Well in the post-Christmas haze, we gear up for a game that is absolutely massive.

The first of a run of 6 matches that will determine if we're in the fight to stay up, or prepping for the Championship, West Ham host Fulham in what really is a must win.

Whilst the visitors have had a poor start to the season, they're an established side that know what they're doing, have a manager who has firmly embedded his way of playing on the Club with an enviable attacking outlook, and they played us off the park in recent times.

West Ham no longer have Fullkrug for a selection option with his deal to Milan sewn up. Diouf and Wan Bissaka remains away at AFCON, but other than that there are no lingering injuries or selection issues, although Scarles was withdrawn in precaution in the last game.

Predicted LineUp.
Areola

KWP. Mavropanos. Todibo. Scarles

Magassa

Fernandes.  Paqueta

Bowen.           Wilson.       Summerville
Subs:Hermansen, Myers, Kilman, Potts, Rodriguez, Irving, Soucek, Earthy, Marshall

Predicted Result:

West Ham 2 - 1 Fulham
(Bowen, Paqueta pen)

A win feels a long time ago, and I don't expect this to be a pretty performance but more in hope than expectation think we'll scrape this over the line....more because of how desperately we need it.

Ok, I’ve had it with this NES twat. Yet another game not starting with a striker. No wonder we are where we are with this narcissistic prick and his negativity.

God we are awful...
Outplayed first 10 minutes.
We are only ball watching, always to far away from the opposition. Doesn't bode well...

Im a tad concerned, amongst a sea of concerns, about Scarles at LB. Doesnt have the pace for the position imho and was more of a midfielder in the yoofs wasnt he?  Like the athleticism of Mayers more but guess his inexperience has see Nuno go for Scarles.

Yes I use whufc.com here.  The best part is they sometimes leave the commentary feed open at half time and you can hear the pundits chatting away honestly about how shit we are as they think they're off air.

Paqueta count today. Passing accuracy, setting up chance count versus giving it away cheaply with impossible pass or being dispossessed. Oh and falling over when dispossessed to kid everyone he was fouled.  Wonder what it will be?

Buckle up for a very frustrating 2 hours of you’re life. Bit like the last game at home then.  Fulham sit deep, we create very little or squander chances we do create before the inevitable conceding where we have to go all out bring on Wilson then kater wesken ourselves furtger by bringing on Guido and Soucek for Potts and Fernandes or Magassa and concede again? Or will we get ahead somehow before sitting 10 behind the ball before a late Fulham equaliser?  Those doomladen scenarios are not hard to believe are they. I just have no confidence in the squad depth ( we have none) the manager or player fighting qualities and character to win football matches.  Watching West Ham is so painful even when we do ok but this season we just dont  score enough and always concede. A very bad combination for Pl survival.   Cant Billy have a word with Bobby and both ask the football gods for devine intervention?

mex, he asks paqueta to fill the hole where a striker should be. I don't think he's a good 10, so even further forward is a waste of fucking time*

Nice to see Earthy on the bench.

No signs of Igor, Fulkrug, Irving, Ward-Prowse, Guilherme.... trying to offload them all, I s'pose.

Traore on the bench for them which doesn't reek of a done deal.

Kilman = defeat

Nuno making the same mistake as the last 2 managers. Kilman is not the better choice over Mavro. Neither are ideal but Kilman gets picked because of past expoolits when alongside Conner Coady etc who were likely compensating for his tendency to fall asleep.  Mavro got beaten by Watkins to the ball fir that Villa OG has been used as the excuse to bring Kilman back in it looks to me. Conscious and unconcious bias at play. Kilman is slower, aerially inferior to Mavro against the aerially strong Jimenez.  Very risky and imo will likely backfire.

This club is turning into a Mecca for defeatist, cowardly managers.
