Paqueta is on another level. As for Aguerd, he’s bloody good as well if he doesn’t have to do two jobs with Àlvarez and JWP ahead of him.

Alvarez not so much a better player than Rice, but different and doignnwhat we needed fantastically. Reminds of of Rice when he was playing a true DM role, but with quicker feet and cycling of the ball. Looks an astute signing...nice one Nobes (who scouted him).

Think we narrowly deserve to be ahead, but the margin should be bigger. As for the goal, I think Bowen should have done better (yeah, I know, it's difficult to do better with a chance than score it) Wonderful cross, and Bowen's effort shouldn't have relied on a keeper's mistake. But it counts. And hopefully this ups Bowen's performance so he gets one that doesn't rely on a keeper error

grasshopper 10:46 Fri Sep 1 He played well against brighton but before he came on and Paqueta was on the left he played a beautiful ball into Antonio to put him through, and I thought when was the last time we saw a ball like that from the left flank. Between that, dribbling into nothing, and low percentage shots that come nowhere near the goal; he does my head in.

Think we are doing ok, got that early round cup the feel against a tricky lower division home opponent. Areola isn't giving me much confidence on crosses though. Paqueta quality and once he gets fully up to speed Alvarez looks a good player.

Sublime pass from Paqueta and we'll take from Bowen. The midfield three is really really good. Only ones letting us down is Antonio, Benrahma and Coufal.
