Daily Quiz anyone?
"If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells? I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature. I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers. You mark your own answers and post your score. I will then record the scores and at the end of the ""lockdown"" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves) Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions. Any interest?"

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
12 for me thanks Zico. My explanation is not as clear as Mad Dog's chart but here goes. Assuming there are only two genders (which in today's world might not be a sound basis to work on). We know there are 14 girls so we need to work out the number of boys. We are told 2 non-girls don't wear blue shirts ( these are boys given my initial assumption.) We can easily calculate that there three boys in blue shirts. OftThe 8 Blueshirts 5 are girls so three must be boys. So 14 girls plus two boys not in Blueshirts and three boys in Blueshirts - 19 Told you Mad Dog's answer was better
Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
"I solved 20 by using a 2 way table ........... Boys. Girls. Total Blue. ............. 5. ....... 8 Red. .... 2. ........ ....... Total ....... .... 14. ........ This means these is 3 boys wearing blue, plus the other 2 (non boys non blue) means 5 boys Plus 14 girls = 19 ....... Boys. Girls. Total Blue. .... 3 .... 5. .... 8 Red. .... 2. .... 9. .... 11 Total. .... 5 .... 14. .... 19 It does help that I taught this topic to my y11s last week"

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
Mad Dog - No need to apologise. I've looked at some of those who won and in what year quizzes and so tough to strike a balance between tough and too easy if you give too much info. It's like I can tell you who won every FA Cup between 1973 and 1998 but after than no idea bar maybe 2006!! Really appreciate you doing Thursdays it really helps.
