Daily Quiz anyone?

"If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells? I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature. I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers. You mark your own answers and post your score. I will then record the scores and at the end of the ""lockdown"" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves) Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions. Any interest?"

"Very interesting aftermath to Ruth Ellis' hanging: Family aftermath Ruth's former husband, George Ellis, committed suicide by hanging at a Jersey hotel on 2 August 1958.[31] In 1969, Ellis's mother, Bertha Neilson, was found unconscious in a gas-filled room in her flat in Hemel Hempstead; she never fully recovered and did not speak coherently again. Ruth's son Andy, who was aged 10 at the time of his mother's execution, took his life in a bedsit in 1982 shortly after desecrating her grave. The trial judge, Sir Cecil Havers, had sent money every year for Andy's upkeep, and Christmas Humphreys, the prosecution counsel at Ruth's trial, paid for his funeral.[5] Her daughter Georgina, who was aged 3 when her mother was executed, was fostered when her father killed himself three years later. She died of cancer in 2001 at age 50.[32]"

Also 10 without Lady Jane Grey only Albert Pierrepoint. I actually saw one of his nooses in Bodmin Gaol. It makes you wonder how many innocent people he killed on behalf of the State.

"Far Cough 1:55 Tue Jan 24 Agreed. Same as Derek Bentley, absolutely scandalous. I really don't know where I sit on the death penalty, especially with such miscarriages of justice. Some individuals are so evil or have done such evil things that I feel that they deserve it. But then you think that even monsters have families, mother, fathers, siblings and is it fair that their families suffer when a crime has nothing to do with them. Such a difficult subject."
