Euro 2024 - Inc Southgate resignation

"We seem to have an England v Bosnia thread but not an actual Euro 2024 thread so here it is So, do we realistically think England can win it? On paper we obviously have a very talented squad but I just don't see us going all the way. For me it's ""same old"" when it comes to England. Breeze the group, favourable draw in last 16 and win then up against far superior opposition in the QFs and out. At best I can see us at the SF stage before being beaten again. Winners for me: France, Portugal, Spain Dark horses: Germany - even though it's a home tournament they've been in a consolidation period, could go close Biggest flops: Scotland - no goals scored Top goalscorer: Mbappe I'm just hoping it's a decent tournament with plenty of decent games that's not ruined by VAR (are they using it?) consolidation period but could go close"

He's trying to be more attacking. I've a feeling focusing system to get the best out of Bellingham isn't a great plan. Get him into a number 8 next to rice Forden in the 10 Bowen over saka of course And eze on the left Bosh

This is truly turgid stuff. Belligham's diving techniques has come along since joining Madrid.

"The experiment has failed, please never play taa in midfield ever again."

England looking far from convincing thanks to Southgate doing a Moyes and playing players out of position. Foden and Kane are passengers but our only tactic seems to be to get the ball out to Saka.

Exactly and the pundits just pointed out the silliness in the nicest possible way. He’s not used to playing that way so he’s going to get caught out. There are specialist fucking midfielders in the squad. I hope that against serious opposition one comes in or Bellingham plays there. Also trying to play a fucking Hollywood pass every time. They were also talking about foden being a non factor. Well. That’s because he’s shoved out on the left on order to accommodate the bloke he’s playing out of position.

Foden for Bowen

We offer very little in attack down the left. I’d pull Foden and bring on Gordon. Foden disappointing as usual.

Also unsure about the idea of having TAA in there for a Hollywood ball once in a blue moon Better off with someone winning & holding the ball & giving it to the wide players. Foden like Kane needs to lift his game or Gordon may get a go

"Not convinced about TAA either. JWP for example could've given a just as good 45 minutes if not better. I've never liked players being shoehorned into a position, god knows we've seen it at west ham too often over the years."

England dominant early but like in any game you need that second goal. Serbia finished the better Southgate needs to be giving Kane a rocket. Not in the game & strolling.

Guehi poor… Foden invisible… Kane no touches in 45 mins… Alex Andrew … nothing… Trippier too slow… Saka getting good positions… Playing too slowly… Bellingham tops so far… Waistcoat needs to sort defense and midfield…

So a team with serious aspirations of winning this plays a right back as CDM in favour of actual midfielders in the squad. And shoves their best playmaker out on the left wing. Especially against a team that will just sit. Fucking great. And why take dunk over braithwaite if dunk isn’t first choice? Branthwaite is the future. Dunk is not.

"I agreed with Jar Jar during the opening segment, we lack balance down the left and the ability to hit a first time ball in to the box. We also have that scouse clown in midfield, if Kane does his usual drifting deep I think we may struggle with a lack of numbers up top"

"If you are going to pick Dunk in the squad you’d think it was to play against someone like Mitrovic England need to restrict the wide players as you could see him bullying the smaller centre halves if they get crosses in. England have much more talent up front so SHOULD win like Germany, Italy, Spain & Holland already have."

"Waistcoat cսnt making a mess of this lineup, a fuckin right back at left back, a fucking right back in centre midfield (off the back of a massive four assists all season) and playing the Premier league's player of the season out of position on the left. Fucking dickhead."

Maverick - if you didn’t like Italy last night then you’re gonna hate Lopetegui next season.

Watching Scotland on Friday night.was an absolute replica of what our fans were being served up last season . Good individual players wrapped into fear by the manager. Robertson mcginn Tierney mctominay and gilmour are all seriously good players. But they ain't allowed to play . And as for that defence dear god .they make Christian daily look like maldini .
