Euro 2024 - Inc Southgate resignation

"We seem to have an England v Bosnia thread but not an actual Euro 2024 thread so here it is So, do we realistically think England can win it? On paper we obviously have a very talented squad but I just don't see us going all the way. For me it's ""same old"" when it comes to England. Breeze the group, favourable draw in last 16 and win then up against far superior opposition in the QFs and out. At best I can see us at the SF stage before being beaten again. Winners for me: France, Portugal, Spain Dark horses: Germany - even though it's a home tournament they've been in a consolidation period, could go close Biggest flops: Scotland - no goals scored Top goalscorer: Mbappe I'm just hoping it's a decent tournament with plenty of decent games that's not ruined by VAR (are they using it?) consolidation period but could go close"

Southgate is more than capable of representing Moyes’s logic at an international level…..anyone remember the Scotland game in the last Euros?

Entertaining match with the right result with the late goal from WOUT Liked the way the Dutch passed & moved quickly but the Poles gave it a real go without Lewandowski

"Enjoyed it so far, every team apart from Scotland appear to have good idea of how to get the ball forward and create chances. Was really impressed with Poland today. Imagine a Moyes team coming here and boring everyone to horrible tears. Let's hope England don't stink the place out tonight."

Fanzone even Attacking a fanzine with a petrol bomb would be stupid. You could just use a lighter. Or scissors.

"See a Polish fan has got a bit over excited, ahead of their game with the Netherlands. Heading to a fanzine with a petrol bomb. Bit of banter that’s hit the wrong audience, or something there’s no place for now in modern day football? Is pickle over there? Hope he doesn’t get sunstroke and do something silly."

Enjoyed watching Moyes explaining how substitutions can win and change games.

"terry-h 5:07 Sun Jun 16 Re: Euro 2024 Yes laughable him explaining how much the modern game has changed. After the German game, he was saying how much he admires Toni Kroos and almost signed him years ago but got sacked by Man Utd and the deal fell through. I Doubt Moyes was the deal breaker for Kroos"

Moyes advising Poland to sit in a low block with 25% possession Luckily both teams playing football instead. Entertaining stuff so far More chances for Holland but losing Zielinski who we looked at a while back looks a very good player

Fucking Moyesey pretending he’s knows all about up to date tactics at the Euros today. What a plonker the man is.

Joyo - blind optimism is the hallmark of a moron son. Something you’ll be very familiar with. Thought we did well to get back into the game without panicking. Should have put the game to rest in the first half. Second was disappointing and almost cost us. Jorginho & Barella were very good.

Not sure I’ve ever seen a more boring performance in tournament football from a side dominating possession than Italy have just done Scored 2 goals and then proceeded to create absolutely fuck all

Still a bit pissed off that Moyes bombed Scamacca out.

Is Vlasic still out on loan or did we sell him?

by El Scorchio
"Well I am sure that will be how it gets explained, but he was nowhere near the ball, never going to get it and tripped him from behind as last man in a denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity. It’s just the same in effect as rugby tackling the geezer in that situation. By the way I should say that I’m not convinced there was actually a lot of contact and after I saw a reply thought it might be overturned and the yellow cancelled out, but nevertheless once the pen was confirmed all the above comes into play."

"El Scorchio 9:56 Sat Jun Because he didn't intentionally trip him will be the call. They adjudged that there was contact but Rodri didn't hack him down. That's when you have the double jeopardy call. From where I'm sitting there actually wasn't enough contact to make him fly forwards and he stuck his own foot into the turf, and why the cսnt didn't just side foot into an empty net I have no idea"

Wonder how much Michael Oliver and whoever is on VAR is gonna get paid for not sending off Rodri One of the most clear cut sendings off you could ever see

Understand that if it’s a pen it’s a yellow if it’s a genuine attempt at a tackle rather than grabbing a shirt or rugby tackling someone Not sure that WAS a genuine attempt to tackle though Rodri quickly withdrawn
