"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"that will probably see the end of saleh, rodgers comes a cross as very controlling and self centered. I don't doubt he still has a bit left, but you would have been better off trading away multiple picks to move up for bryce young. there's a deal to be made with chicago for that number one pick and I don't see them going QB, unless Fields is traded in the next few weeks"

"southbankbornnbred 6:41 Well that's true! But it's very risky. If this doesn't pay off basically with a superbowl win, it's just going to push the team into cap hell and a clear out and yet more rebuilding. He's probably going to make certain demands upon the management and who they recruit in FA/draft. If Rodgers was the final piece to get you over the top, then yes, but I'm not sure he is at this point. But who knows! It'll be interesting to see what happens. It would make an already competitive and exciting looking division that little bit more so- especially if Brady goes to the Dolphins as well."

"Rodgers' past links with our new offensive co-ordinator, Nate Hackett, should help a bit, too. Rodgers will be more familiar with the new offensive system than any of the current squad. I guess it's better that the QB knows what he's doing - even if he is now 148 years-old! While it wouldn't have been my choice, there's part of me that wants to see Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore link up with Rodgers. Potentially, that is nuts. He won't lack for targets."

"Most things do end badly for the Jets. So, in one sense, there's not a lot to lose! We haven't been to the play-offs since 2010. It's the longest play off drought in an NFL obsessed with parity. And quarterback was THE Achilles heel for us last season when Wilson fell off a cliff. I'd rather we went for Jimmy G or somebody less expensive than 39-year-old Rodgers, and kept slowly building under Saleh - who made steady improvements as head coach throughout last season. The fans generally have confidence in Saleh now, which was not the case in his first year, because he oversaw a much-needed improvement in the defense. But it looks like the owners and Saleh are keen on Rodgers having failed to land Carr (gone to Norlunz). I just hope we don't give up too much for him. Depending on whether he sticks around as QB2, Rodgers' influence might also help Wilson. His problem seems to be his attitude, which may now change. Who knows? I'd prefer we didn't land Rodgers. But if we're going to do it, then I guess we have to go all in...it's shit or bust at that point...see you in the play-offs or when Rodgers' season ends in injury..."

"Shouldn't unretire numbers no matter what Broadway Joe says. There was talk of unretiring Kirby Puckett's number because of his personal and legal issues, thank God they didn't the bloke was a genius with the bat and in the field"

"Btw, if Rodgers signs for the Jets the team is going to 'unretire' (!) Joe Namath's #12 shirt number. Never thought I'd see that. Apparently, Namath himself has said it's OK."

"Jets look like they're going ""shit or bust"" on a deal for Rodgers. I was previously bought into Saleh's ""gradual build"" approach, which certainly showed signs of success last season (especially on defense). But it looks like the top brass - and perhaps Saleh himself - feel like the team is already in shape for a now-or-never run at the AFC East and the play-offs. So they may trade away some picks for the win-now approach with Rodgers. Let's face it, the Jets have tried the softly-softly build approach before now (Herm, Rex, Bowles, HeadGase). And it often eneded in failure. I actually thought Saleh would get it right that way. But he's seemingly going for Mangina's shit or bust, when we landed an ageing Favre. It didn't end well back then (finished 9-7 but missed the play-offs after losing several in a row at the end, when Favre's arm gave up). Hope this is different. Rodgers in a Jets shirt. Fucking hell!"

Bit of a QB dilemma as well. Who do you keep? Also the XFL started (again) today. Happened to watch the first game. Felt very college ball but quite enjoyable.

"March 15 th is the start of the new season and start of free agency. Some good free agents to be had. Niners have 16 mill in cap room but they have to pay Bosa. They can restructure Trent Williams and get an additional 14 mill which gives them some cash to play with""¶.. The D lineman Oay e looks like a nice fit""¶ Kinlaw looks like a bust."

"Eagles are probably one or two players away from dominating. But as Griff said, keeping the current roster on board will be tough - plenty up on free agency and will walk for a few extra million. Others now know their value in a league that likes to pay. It's a shame, because many worse sides than that Eagles line up have won Superbowls. Chiefs/Eagles definitely felt like #1/#2 in the league - which doesn't happen often. Mahomes is fucking insane. Jets passed on him. Of course the Jets passed on him."

"""It would be nice if they can keep the squad together"" - unlikely i suspect, zeb, the list of free agents is pretty terrifying on the defence. And if Kelce retires, he's basically irreplaceable. Still, as long as Gannon goes, Eagles will be ok longer term - might just have a transitional year while the likes of Jordan Davis & Nakobe Dean step up, and a much tougher schedule. Evidently, the Cardinals job is 'his to lose'... a bit like the Superbowl was, and he managed that, the cսnt."

That was a classic offence-fest. Jalen Hurts and the entire Eagles defence were bloody to be on the losing side. It would be nice if they can keep the squad together. Red Zone is brilliant and a pretty intense watch as it flies from game to game for six odd hours

"Eagles fans have never been convinced by gannon, and got totally shown up in the second half. Great first half and really should have been out of sight but for the silly fumble. Choked second half and got totally outcoached. Still, that's a disgusting call, and you know it's bad when even the receiver isn't appealing for it. To have the championship game and the superbowl decided by bad calls for one team isn't a good look. As for Mahomes, already a genuine great, but could do without the histrionics. Either that, or the injury will be very bad in the morning when all the juice they pumped him full of wears off."

All credit to Andy Reid as well. The amount of blown coverage was ridiculous. Just out-called the Eagles.
