Daily Quiz anyone?
"If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells? I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature. I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers. You mark your own answers and post your score. I will then record the scores and at the end of the ""lockdown"" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves) Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions. Any interest?"

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
"Sorry about your son in law East, that's hard, but that was a nice gesture. I think Gold has become associated with Sullivan so was on a hiding to nothing no matter how he came across., For me there are some things the Cearns ownership and certainly Terry Brown's stint that I didn't like, top of the list the way they shabbily treated John Lyall and Billy Bonds, but in the main they were background owners and you rarely heard from them. I think Gold was like that to an extent but as I say peoples perceptions of him were linked to the antics of Sullivan,. I'm re-reading a few old West Ham books and there is a story in there about a young fan whose father was killed in a road accident. It was arranged that the kid would be a mascot at a game. After being shown around the dressing room and introduced to the players, he was being led out when the then manager Lou Macari stopped them and said that the lad could join him on the teams bench for the game. Macari got some criticism from the fans, some of it understandable, but I bet few know about that side of him."

"Just 4 for me today thanks Zico. I should have known more. Not that I was a big fan of DG. Having said that nor did I really dislike him, He certainly did not arouse the same level of antipathy as both Sullivan and Brady do. And I did not know until this week that when my Son-in-Law was dying of a brain tumour back in 2012 and a group of his mates took him to Upton Park for his final visit, David Gold came and spoke to him in the hospitality lounge. I wasn't there that night, and only because my daughter on hearing of David Gold's passing said that it was sad news and revealed some nice photos of the meeting that I became aware of what had occurred. Doesn't make him necessarily a better owner, but it does show he had some humanity and some respect for an individual fan at least. His wider legacy can be argued in time. It already is on the RIP post which IMO shows a lack of class, ironically what was often levelled at Gold."

I got 16 which I am really surprised and pleased with Never learnt this stuff at school ( It wasn't mandated in my day) Don't remember ever really seeing or learning about a periodic table. So most of my knowledge came from reading vitamin and medicine labels. crossword clues and lucky guesses built on general knowledge from self-taught science.
