"The gentlemen, as mentioned below, is very good - Hugh grant is excellent in it, as is Charlie hunman. You know what you’re going to get from a guy Ritchie gangster film, but this is surprisingly good. Colin Farrell is great too - the only bit I was a bit underwhelmed by was the reveal of who the ‘bad guy’ was as I thought it was blatantly obvious. But the ending is brutally brilliant too"

Dark Waters. Mark Ruffalo plays the lawyer who took on DuPont. It ain’t a barrel of laughs. But it’s well worth your time.

"I finally got around to seeing 1917 on Prime (Netflix/whatever). Now, some may criticise it for being a load of badly-acted, far-fetched, artsy-farsy, woke crap. Maybe so. And some may consider the much-vaunted brilliant single shot technique just leads to half the film consisting of pictures of soldiers back-sides. True enough. But surely nobody could fail to be moved by that poignant CLIMACTIC scene. L-Cpl Gobshite: Hey, are you my equally common as muck squaddie mates brother, who is for some unaccountable and unlikely reason a posh officer? Lt Posh: Sure. That's me. Hurry up, I'm a bit busy being kind and concerned for my men at the moment. L-Cpl Gobshite: Well, your brothers dead which is a shame because he was a good bloke: Lt Posh: Yes. Damn shame. Would you like a spot of tea? L-Cpl Gobshite: Too right. Can I write to your Mum? Lt Posh: Ok. I suppose so. L8rs Who could fail to be moved?"
