Dont know this Garcia but any purchase could be balanced by selling CZECH PLAYER OF THE YEAR Soucek Think there would be good demand somewhere like Germany Any reason Emerson would be 'looking to leave' other than his mate Paqueta on the way out? He has been an unexpectedly good signing

"Seems like a decent price for Aleix Garcia, although I think his release clause is €20m and that's probably the price he'll go for, whoever buys him. Would be classed as home grown as he was at Man City for 5 years from the age of 18."

"Sports View West Ham United in for Girona midfielder Aleix Garcia West Ham United are keen on Girona midfielder Aleix Garcia and have tabled an official bid for the Spaniard, according to Radio Girona journalist Nil Sola. The Hammers have submitted a bid of €16 million for the 26-year-old, which is higher than what Bayer Leverkusen have offered the La Liga club. While West Ham will not be playing in Europe next term after finishing the 2023-24 Premier League campaign in 9th place, Garcia will be open to the move given the strong appeal of the English top-flight to him. New Hammers manager Julen Lopetegui will be backed in the summer transfer window after replacing David Moyes, and strengthening the midfield is top of his plans. West Ham already have Edson Alvarez within their ranks, and while the Mexico international had a decent campaign, losing Declan Rice last summer is a huge blow the London club has not completely recovered from and landing Garcia will be a much-needed boost. Moyes eventually admitted that the Hammers were missing the influence of their former captain in the middle of the park, and Lopetegui has identified a problem that needs solving ahead of next season. Signing Garcia will be great for West Ham, and his partnership with Alvarez could make their midfield the most aggressive in England going forward. The former Manchester City midfielder was one of the major reasons Girona finished third in the La Liga last season after finishing 10th in 2022-23, weighing in with three goals and six assists in 37 league games while providing regular protection for the defence. Garcia has been rewarded with a place in the 28-player provisional squad Spain have named for the European Championship later this month and is expected to make the final cut following his brilliant season. West Ham will be doing themselves the world of good by completing a move for the La Liga star, and having him and Alvarez could finally help them stop missing Rice."

"Sport Witness Player ‘ready to leave’ West Ham United – Director set to pounce as his signing ‘guarantees quality’ By Naveen Ullal Emerson Palmieri could be ‘on his way out’ of West Ham United in the summer window, according to Leggo, relayed by ASRomaLive.it. The left-back has been a regular for the Hammers since joining them in 2022, and he finished the recently concluded season with 47 appearances. His deal lasts until 2026, with an option for another year, and the report says the 29-year-old is ‘ready to leave’ West Ham in the summer window. The Brazil-born Italy international arrived in England when Chelsea signed him from AS Roma in 2018, and he hasn’t ruled out a return to the Serie A side. On Monday, new Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi arrived in Italy, and he’ll now start to work on the club’s transfers. Roma are likely to make Angeliño’s loan stay permanent, looking for a new left-back to please Daniele De Rossi, more so because Leonardo Spinazzola’s deal will expire in June. Emerson is ready to leave West Ham, and Ghisolfi could pounce on this opportunity to bring him back to the club. Roma are of the belief he can replace Spinazzola, and he also ‘guarantees quality’ to De Rossi. Leggo make no mention of the Premier League side’s stance on letting their player leave."

"Who is going for Toney or Solanke? I wouldn’t mind Solanke myself. Has scored in the league & a decent age at 26 Took a look at that Samu from Atletico on YouTube Big unit at 19/20 & 6ft 4 First impression… raw, not really athletic or quick & didn’t strike as a natural finisher Maybe he will develop but didn’t look like someone who’d be ready on day 1"

Tottenham have apparently joined us and Villa in interest for En Nesyri and Seville are getting greedy and have put the asking price up from 20m to 30m LOL. For some reason I don't think that one is going to happen (again!).

"And this is Rolfes talking about Moussa Diaby: ""When we scout a player we come from three perspectives. There is the data, the video live scouting, and also scouting the personality of the player. We are creating a young team that needs to develop so it needs the right mentality to develop yourself and the club. ""Data is at the beginning of the process. We start with data selection and then we check the other parts. We look to the live scouting and research his personality. Most of the time is spent on the personality. In the end, I have to balance it before I make a decision. ""It is interesting to do the eye check. But the data is neutral. You get a lot of information and have to pull out the right data. For example, he may have a certain role in his current team but how is that going to fit into your team? We spend a lot of time analysing that. ""But we start with the data."""

"Sir Alf 1:37 Tue Jun 4 Here's part of an interview from Simon Rolfes, the sporting director at Leverkusen, talking about how they use data to identify players. This is from 2022, when Steidten was still there, and presumably he works in a similar way now. It's talking specifically about Jeremie Frimpong. ""His profile as a fast player with incredible acceleration and good technique was clear, but the conclusion wasn’t, as he could improve other things. He created three or four possible chances per game, but his last ball wasn’t that good. “I thought that if I didn't put my trust in our coaches to help him improve that, then when would I ever choose to sign a player? Because how many full-backs are able to create three or four possible chances? Not at lot. “His ability to accelerate and decelerate is world-class. If you’re world-class at something at Celtic and in the Bundesliga, that’s also the case in other leagues. There were other things he had to improve when he came, and he has done fantastic. He has the right ambition to work on himself. ""The signing of Frimpong is a good example of how we use data. We were looking for a fast full-back, and he was directly on the list. Then we went deeper and analyzed him. “We pre-filter players in some cases, especially in markets where we can't watch every game. It's all becoming a lot more intelligent, and you can do much more with data than just tracking passes. For example, limb-tracking can be used in the future to find out how often players turn their heads to observe their environment. If you do that often as a midfielder, that might mean you're a better player. ""Data will only get better at identifying the best players for a certain playing style. Before we had data, we were counting duels. Then, at some point not too long ago, we were able to measure how far players were running, and now we mix data to create KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators). We're only at the starting point."" https://bulinews.com/news/15213/simon-rolfes-interview-leverkusen-boss-global-scouting-frimpong-fantastic-rise-more"

🇪🇸🚨 Samu Omorodion | Suggestion West Ham have ‘reached an agreement’ to sign Atlético Madrid player ➡️ Claims flying around Spain about unnamed PL reaching €30m deal... then one source named #WHUFC Possible swap deal to be done there?

"Sport Witness Suggestion West Ham have ‘reached an agreement’ to sign Atlético Madrid player – €30m deal claimed By Naveen Ullal Atlético Madrid’s Samu Omorodion could be on his way to West Ham United, according to a report from Spain. Journalist Antonio Ruiz told El Partidazo de COPE that Atlético have ‘reached an agreement’ with a Premier League side for the forward. The deal is around €30m, but Ruiz didn’t provide the details of the English club. El Desmarque relay this and then provide their own update on this case, which is when they mention West Ham. The 20-year-old, 6ft 4"" forward joined the La Liga side from Granada last summer and Los Rojiblancos sent him out on loan to Deportivo Alavés in the same window. He managed eight goals and an assist in 35 games for Alavés in the recently concluded season. Omorodion has returned to Atlético after saying goodbye to Alavés, and he’s set to make a switch to the Premier League. El Desmarque say Atlético ‘can sell’ the Spain U21 international to Julen Lopetegui’s side in the summer window. This is mentioned after relaying Cope’s claim, while their title says West Ham are ‘the possible destination’ for the attacker. If West Ham are the club to have agreed a deal with Atlético for Omorodion, there should certainly be more claims in Spain and England in the next few hours. The Hammers appear to be making offers for players around Europe and beyond, with something of a frantic start to their summer efforts."

"We dont have any clue on the data that Steidten and team use. We can guess it will include the usual stats like passing accuracy, assists, goals etc but what other indicatrs are used? Brighton have a patented model which was allegedly adapted from their owners ( Bloom ) gambling business? All a bit “moneyball” but hopefully Steidten, his brother and scouting team also use their eyes and explore the soft skills like “psychology” or personality although not sure how you determine that. Those psychometric tests popular in the 90s were only a guiee at best. Anyway, Kudus, Alvarez were eecent picks and even Dinos will work better in more of a possession based set up I suspect. Us? We can still use our well tested, “armchair” assessments and knee jerk reactions from a YouTube montage or watching one game or highlights :-) The binary “he’s the bollox” or “he’s toilet”. Who needs this new fangled data analysis? All part of the squalid world of professionalism that West Ham and their owners revile? ;-)"

"Of course the signing of a Brazilian 18 year old is a gamble. None of us have properly seen him play and know one knows how well we would settle and acclimatise in a cold, north European country halfway across the world at such a young age. In fact, all of the above does indeed make this signing a massive gamble. I'd rather us sign promising English players from the Championship. Crystal Palace signed 20 year old Adam Wharton from Blackburn in January and he made his England debut last night. Does this Steidten geezer have something in his contract that stipulates he won't recommend any domestic based players? It seems that way from his globe trotting, planet polluting behaviour."

"So he can play anywhere along the forward line and preferred positionis as a No. 10 with skill to burn, as many Palmeiras fans have stated, but nothing like Paqueta. Nothing at all.... By the way, he isn't costing us 30M, it's about £19M and another £5M should he reach targets to activate the bonuses. Relatively speaking, this is still a gem Steidtens unearthed, as Endrick has just joined Real Madrid but this time it's more than double that of what we're paying for Guilherme with just as much promise.. https://www.forbes.com/sites/steveprice/2024/04/10/finding-endrick-real-madrids-next-brazilian-superstar/"

"The window hasn't even properly opened yet, signings can't officially be made until 1st July, we're signing what looks like an unbelievable talent, and people are moaning because we ain't signing 'solid' players yet. Hahaha. This kid won't be anything like £30mil, and plus, a lot of it will be for certain things achieved, like appearances, and how the club get on. It's widely reported it could end up £25mil, if it does, it means it's been a success. There really are some proper wally's who follow us."

"Massive Attack 11:14 Tue Jun 4 Geezer is nothing like Paqueta, not even close. It's succession planning for once, he's a Kudus or Zaha (if he comes) replacement for when we inevitably sell Kudus or someone like Zaha gets too old. If he plays at ten it'll be like Kudus rather than Paqueta. This bloke ain't gonna put his foot in and he wants to run at defences, the opposite to Paq. Call me a cynic but isn't Scarf Botherer meant to be finding these players before they're worth 30m quid? I reckon I could have gone to Brazil and fairly quickly 'unearthed' this bloke given he is all over the fucking Internet as a great prospect. Where are the gems you German knitwear nonce?"

"The Alex Garcia link is an interesting one. My first reaction was that we don’t need him, he plays in the Flynn Downes position and is similar. Having watched his clips though it is clear that he’s pretty special… a move to Leverkusen appears to be pretty advanced but apparently we’ve offered more both to Girona and personally and most importantly he likes the idea of playing in the PL. Probably too late to the party and the lure of Leverkusen and the CL will be too much but you never know… he is certainly the sort of player that is needed if we are going to transition into a possession based side."

"Mike O Alvarez just text ""leave that to me lol arriba!""... And you saw the same things I saw too. His touch and weight of pass is top draw with the vision to boot. He does strike me as more of a No. 10 which has been expressed by many Palmeiras fans online and can see why. He's a junior Paqueta from what I can tell. The other thing that strikes me is his build, he doesn't seem as lightweight as Chelsea's Willian they're getting or even the podgy Endrick. He'll grow stronger in to his frame and looks the better equipped out of the 3 to adapt more to the Prem I reckon. Steidten and his Team have certainly done their homework on the lad. And I also think the moving on of someone like Moyes for Lopetegui is actually inspired by the Club right now. Considering not only his preferred style of play geared more for Footballers but also his excellent track record for nurturing young talent too. I'm sure his Spanish will translate well enough too if Lopetegui doesn't already know Portguese fluently. There's obviously plenty of variables where his talent can still not be fulfilled, be it too much money too soon, doesn't acclimatise to culture, adapt to demanding League, language barrier etc bu it's all there for him to showcase the promise he has if he keeps his head screwed on and away from injury. If this kind of signing doesn't excite anyone, then nothing will."

"Odd given the position this lad plays, but this is exactly the type of signing we’re expecting from Steidten. Sounds like Zaha is coming in to play on the left."
