May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.
Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?
Window this close season comes in two parts:
Part 1: 1st June to 10th June
Part 2: 16th June to 1st September
I've said this before but it's pretty obvious that Sullivan is holding back transfer funds because he knows that there's a very good chance he'll need to spend that dough on sacking Potter and replacing him and his team and then probably having to give the new guy transfer funds in January. Or, if somehow Potter turns things around completely and shows himself worthy then maybe he'll be the one who gets to spend a bit in January.
All in all, it would have been a surprise if we didn't underspend this summer, even more than usual.

Hermanson and Brownhill would complete a decent window.

If a player gives Sullivan a stiffy or makes him look good and he gets something out of it personally, the money and the will to buy them is magically there.
Otherwise we're skint and we can't afford anyone.

I'd like to know where our money has gone and how we are so skint? Transfer Markt which is considered to be pretty accurate, says that over the last three seasons (including this window) we have a net transfer spend of -£70m. We also cut the wages of Fab, Ings, Antonio, Cressy, Zouma and had a big european campaign with a good amount of income from it. So Sully once again where the fuck has the money gone "it's just lies lies lies" i hear someone say in reply!
We also supposedly bid £50m+ for Duran in the winter.
This window has been a bit of a disaster for us so far. I have a funny feeling we might pull a RAZZLE DAZZLE signing out of the hat still.

From that Youtube reel the Brazilian keeper looks the bollocks at shot stopping. No doubt.
But what that reel doesn't show once is him with the ball at his feet and playing out, nor does it show him coming for crosses. Two major factors for GK now.
If we do get him (which is now looking highly likely according to transfer news), I hope some cսnt at the club has done more than just watch that Youtube reel.
Yeah but he played in the CLUB WORLD CUP, and he's BRAZILIAN, so he must be good. And he's cheap so therefore we are getting a great deal. Sullivan logic. The man is playing 4D chess.

Didn't stubbo put up an article the other day which said he's excellent with his distribution?
I wouldn't have a clue, but the article was bigging him right up. Might have been his brother writing it though.

It appears we do not have the money to recruit as Potter would want. We can’t shift Aguerd or Alvarez or anyone else worth a few quid
After selling Mohammed Kudus, West Ham is looking to strengthen its squad. The London club is reportedly interested in a Ukrainian international from Shakhtar Donetsk.
While the Irons are looking for a replacement for Kudus, West Ham United is targeting Georgiy Sudakov, who plays for Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine. The player's value, according to his club, is estimated at around €50 million. Preliminary talks are underway between the two clubs. If the transfer goes through, he could become the third Ukrainian to move to East London, after Serhii Rebrov and Andriy Yarmolenko.
Georgiy Sudakov has considerable experience for a player of only 22 years old.
Georgiy Sudakov, 22, has made 142 appearances for Shakhtar Donetsk since making his senior debut five years ago, racking up 35 goals and 24 assists. Andy Jones of The Athletic describes him as a "technically gifted... versatile midfielder," adding that he is one of the "most exciting prospects" and "brightest young talents" that Eastern Europe has to offer.

Like Fabianski, the best goalkeeper West Ham have had since Phil Parkes.
As good as Fabianski then?
Can't wait.

To sum up the goalkeeper targets...
the majority view is Hemansen is shit because Leicester let in loads of goals.
The Brazilian lad is shit because he's 29, no one has seen him play.
The lad at Parma is mustard, because he's got a great name and young, no one has seen him play.
About covers it i think.

Thing is Brazilian football is a lot different to English football.
His showreel is all about shot stopping, quite a few saves went back into play too. Any decent keeper is a good shot stopper, Areola is too.
Does he come for crosses, command his area, close down attackers properly when one on one and play out from the back with the ball at his feet as Potter needs?
Hopefully the answer is yes, yes, yes & yes but can't tell from his showreel.

It's Hermansen I'd still like to see us sign. First saw him in the Championship the season Leicester got promoted and looked good then and thought he looked good on occasions in the Premier League even though he was surrounded by so much shit in the Team. Keeper position is so important they need to make sure they get it right, whoever they eventually go for.

Has anyone seen this keeper play?
All the reports of those that watch and know Brazilian football are bigging him up, as opposed to a few of you on here, interested to know how you've come to that conclusion?
Doubt it. He's barely played any first team football throughout his career.

Sullivan or his kid have been watching the CWC on channel 5, checked how cheap we can get him and thought 'that'll do'. He's played at the CWC don't you know.

He's got quite a decent amount of GAFFS in him for such a short playing career.
FWIW, I think if we get Hermansen, then we'll likely pay too much for him and have our pants pulled down. I think if we buy him for the reported amount, then it makes him something like the 3rd highest fee paid for a GOALTENDER from the Championship.
Why has he only just started playing in a football team at 29 if he's not been shit?
I've no idea, just read that he was brilliant last season. He may have been second choice somewhere and waited for a chance and took it.. But honestly just a guess. He may also still be shit, I'm just saying a bit of research suggests he isn't. If we sign him we'll find out soon enough I suppose.
His video reel looks like a Fifa 95 goalkeeper glitch. Does he ever catch the fucking ball?
One of the highlights on his show reel was a player heading the ball wide of goal and him diving for it but not touching it, if he can't even find enough saves to make a 5 minute reel then we are truly fucked.

I'm not sure this keeper is shit, looks decent and from reading up on him seems well rated over there.
I'm also not sure we should assume Potter wants the other keepers, I find it hard to believe most of the shit I've read this window, for one I've never thought we were in for Elliott.
