"I LOVED Saint Maud but my missus only thought it so-so. There again it's right up my street, a story about people with shit lives becoming religious nutcases. It kind of explains the mindset that carries out these terrible terrorist attacks but does it subtly. Last night I saw Willie's Wonderland. Nicolas Cage attacked by animatronic kid's animals possessed by witchcraft. He doesn't say a single word in the whole film. I was hoping that it would be like Mandy, a film that I loved, but it wasn't. Comfortably the worst Nic Cage film that I have ever seen and that's saying something."

"Yeah really enjoyed `The Dig' Ted... great story. Sat down and watched Lawrence of Arabia last night for the umpteenth time... full whacked on surround sound... absolute and utter perfection in a film... magnificent. ""THIS IS MY FUCKING WELL"""

"Watched ""The Dig"" yesterday thoroughly enjoyed it. Can we not have another thread for 2021 with a list of what ever films were actually made please Hammers 1993 ? Yes I'm a lazy bastard but I'm not really a film critic :-)"

"Westham67 5:30 Tue Nov 17 Just watched it. Excellent film and goes to show what can be done for a budget of a few hundred grand. He's about to direct the Hollywood version, but no doubt they'll fuck it up by showing the car chases etc. It would work brilliantly on stage, too. Great recommendation, cheers."

"Bumping this for 2021. Saint Maud, particularly the final ten minutes. Excellent new UK psychohorror. Impressive work from the debut writer/director."

"Not recent, but can definitely recommend Kajaki on Netflix – a flick about the true story of when a group of Paras get stuck in a minefield in Afghanistan in 2006. Talk about a living nightmare. Not for the squeamish, but 10/10 for the makeup department."

Due out next summer. Paramount doesn’t want to sell it to one of the streaming companies. Like they have done with Coming to America 2.

Check out The Isle 2018. Low budget indie horror. Good acting and very atmospheric. Southend boy Alex Hassell I think will be big. Was good in the The Red Sea Diving Resort as well.

"Uncut Gems. Avoid it at all costs. Absolute self-indulgent waste of time. Constant shouting, terrible score, no plot, dialogue written by a 15 year old in drama class. The critics love it though and apparently Adam Sandler is the next Dustin Hoffman"

"The gentlemen, as mentioned below, is very good - Hugh grant is excellent in it, as is Charlie hunman. You know what you’re going to get from a guy Ritchie gangster film, but this is surprisingly good. Colin Farrell is great too - the only bit I was a bit underwhelmed by was the reveal of who the ‘bad guy’ was as I thought it was blatantly obvious. But the ending is brutally brilliant too"
