Lopetegui (sacked 8.1.2025)
I was thoroughly looking forward to the start of this season
Was also prepared that things might take some time and wasn't expecting miracles over night What I didn't expect was a manager who after spending 6 weeks with the total dross he'd been left by Moyes would deem them fit to start in a premier league game And low and behold all of them played absolute shit
We're now 1 game in and none of our new players are any closer to bedding in or learning anything from their new team mates cos they barely spent a second on the pitch, half of them not at all I think it's gonna take somewhere between 6-10 games before we see the team anyone with an ounce of sense would play cos this bloke can't identify shit when he see's it I thought we was handed a miracle at half time when we went in level and low and behold he changed nothing I'm sure people are gonna make excuses for him and say it's too early to judge
But from what I've just seen today, this cսnt is David Moyes in a mission impossible mask

surely you understand that there are professional football managers out there that are absolutely terrible, despite being classed as professionals
what have you seen from Lopetegui that suggests that he’s not one of them and if we stick with him, all while become good
not looking for an argument, just a genuine question
His record at youth & senior level at international and club level speaks for itself.
To claim that he doesn't know anything about football is ridiculous.

As I said earlier, modern football has created a monster where fans now demand instant success and can't be seen to make mistakes along the way, even at the beginning of their time at a Club.
You see that's bollocks, and that kind of shows you up. It's nothing about the form of two players who were currently better last season than this but who were hardly unknown and were purchased because we outbid others. He's under my microscope because with £150m he found two shitty midfielders, one right winger who doesn't play and was always going to be behind our 2 best players who occupy the same position, a left winger who the manager doesn't fancy, a slow 31 year old centre forward, an 'ok' centre half for £40m to add to the Greek disaster from a year ago and no keeper or left back. That's why

I’m not jumping on the back of any of the new signings
I haven’t once slated any of them
just the manager
for me, he’s the worst I’ve ever seen in almost 35 years
and yeah it COULD change
but I’ve seen enough to stand by original thought that it won’t
And that's fair enough if you've already come to that conclusion.

Re: Lopetegui
Indeed and that was all thanks to Steidten Airlines. Maybe people at a new Club need just a bit longer to prove themselves before we get rid of them again soon after they arrive..
And as much as I like Steidten, he too isn't blameless either for making mistakes, as he has with recruitment.

Re: Lopetegui
Alvarez ain’t a bad player either
just doesn’t have the pace to play at premier league level, as does the rest of our central midfield
if we come up against another team with also a slow pairing then they’ll be in their element
but it’s not the way of the premier league anymore

Re: Lopetegui
Do you know what
I’m probably part of the problem
I was born in 82
started supporting West Ham just after the ‘90 world cup
After the 2006 cup final defeat I started saying I’d take us winning any cup, even the league cup and take relegation the year after, if I just got to know what it felt like to win something
well I did get to know that with the Europa conference and I suppose know I have to take my medicine
My own brother just reminded me of my deal with the devil

Re: Lopetegui
Maybe, but it’s hard to judge with Salthouse pulling Sullivan’s strings. I don’t think Steidten want Lopetegui.
Whichever it is, he’s still at the top of the pyramid and will have a direct line to Sullivan.

Re: Lopetegui
In footballing sense I’m depressed. Depressed that we have an owner who is blind to the direction modern football is heading. Depressed that the same owner will let the season drag along without taking action and then we probably appoint the wrong person again.
And jealous of other clubs with less resources but who seem to be able to make better decisions on a consistent basis.
im really trying to give Lopetegui the benefit of the doubt, but the players just look like they don’t want to play for him.

Re: Lopetegui
Great example mate
especially when we lost 4! Under Pellegrini but still mustered a top 10 finish
guess why
cos we didn’t look totally clueless
wasnt playing players out of position
Wasn’t listening to press conferences conducted by fucking Evita
the blokes a cսnt
and if you back him then you’re just as clueless

Fuck knows how you would have coped at the start of the 1985/86 season when we only won 3 games in those opening first 10 fixtures as well looking well off it. Losing 3 of the first 4 games including against Luton and Birmingham..

Re: Lopetegui
The only way he’s getting sacked would be if the players decide to go and talk to Noble or Steidten.
Otherwise we’ll go through the usual cycle of losing a couple then winning a must win game etc etc.

Re: Lopetegui
So I take that as a yes then to my previous post that only winning 3 matches in the opening first 10 games in to a new season is a sackable offence.
As for he can't speak a single word of English, the useless cսnt can actually speak 4 different languages.

Re: Lopetegui
The bottom line is that due to a combination of poor recruitment, weird selections, odd formations and suspect motivational ability, many fans can see that he has been found wanting. Despite what you believe, none of that can change and we have had over one quarter of the season.

Re: Lopetegui
I'd kind of agree you can't be certain after 10 games...but you can certainly start to get a real feel for how things are likely to go.
You also could reasonably expect to start seeing things coming together. The odd cohesive team performance, a feeling for the managers style and approach.
Our guy proves every half time he's got it wrong in the first half, or at the very least doesn't back what he did at the start of the game. The players don't know if they're coming or going. They spend every game trying to 'work out' the game plan on the pitch.
The biggest indictment for me is there is no sign either of the team being comfortable in what he's asking them to do, or of it being a successful approach even when they do seem to get it close to right.
He's built his career on a tight defence, that concedes very few goals, whilst sacrificing offensive output. That's his trademark. And we've had zero evidence for it. I'd say he has us conceding more "big" chances than Moyes did.
The only guys who really know if they think it will come together are the players...and Bowen should be feeding back to the Goblin Chief through whoever he needs to if this hombré deserves more time or not.

without trying to be rude but you don’t seem to understand what’s at stake here
You’d of had the same attitude towards Roeder and Grant as you do Lopetegui now
you surely must of learned something from that?
Roeder was uninspiring and dropped his best player cos he had a row with him, which was criminal
team selection got us relegated
Grant was also uninspiring but generally put out the best XI he had available, it was just a case of a shit squad and a poor manager, results started to improve when we actually gave him a decent striker in Ba though
well this clown is both of them rolled into one, except he can’t even speak English
we’re going to get relegated and you welcome it
No, because like I keep telling you, if I'm not convinced around midway into a new season then I'd look to change then if it really isn't looking good and I wanted them both gone before the season was out. Just not after 10 games.
