"C&H West Ham Target Abraham as Roma Looks to Sell West Ham United are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window under new manager Julen Lopetegui, with a focus on bolstering multiple positions. Following David Moyes’ departure, Lopetegui alongside technical director Tim Steidten are tasked with reshaping the West Ham squad. Defensive reinforcements, wingers, and a new striker are all high priorities. Tammy Abraham, the English striker currently at Roma, has emerged as a potential target for West Ham. Reports from Sky Sports in Italy suggest Roma are looking to sell Abraham as they rebuild their squad under new manager Daniel De Rossi. The 26-year-old has struggled with injuries in Italy, managing only one goal in eight Serie A appearances. However, West Ham might still be interested in acquiring him. West Ham reportedly kept tabs on Abraham previously, with scouts even attending a Roma match where he scored . Furthermore, both Lopetegui and Steidten recognise the need for a new striker to address West Ham’s long-standing issues in that position . While Abraham’s injury record is a concern, Roma’s desire to sell might present West Ham with an opportunity to acquire him at a discounted price. If a deal materialises, West Ham could find their long-term replacement for Michail Antonio, and Abraham could return to the Premier League for regular playing time. With the transfer window approaching, this potential link between the Irons and Abraham is one to keep an eye on."

"I'd be amazed if Guilherme settles in that quickly and produces it for us this season. Only turned 18 in February. So it feels like we're gonna lay the ground work down for him to eventually flourish in a season or two's time. I know he will come with a huge price taggor one so young you'd want to see him produce it straight away but to do that, he really would be on a path similar to the likes of Neymar. And if he is that good, that soon then fuck me Steidten really is a genius."

"Sport Witness ‘Agreement close’ – West Ham ‘expect to close deal’ for signing, Hammers have deal in place with player By Naveen Ullal Two days ago, Venê Casagrande reported a West Ham United official was in Brazil to hold talks with Palmeiras for Luis Guilherme. On Friday, UOL’s André Hernan stated the Hammers are in advanced talks with the 18-year-old. He also explained that West Ham intend to make a €30m bid. A fresh report from UOL states West Ham have agreed a deal with the winger and now an agreement has to be found with the Brazilian club. It’s claimed West Ham are closing in on a deal for around €30m and the South American club will be entitled to receive 20% of the fee from his future sale. UOL don’t specify whether or not the €30m deal includes bonuses. Hernan took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to say that €30m is the fixed fee and the two clubs have kept the bonuses confidential. He further adds ‘agreement [is] close’ between the Premier League side and Palmeiras. According to ESPN in Brazil, Guilherme has attracted interest from several clubs, but West Ham are currently leading the race. Julen Lopetegui’s side are in ‘advanced negotiations’ with Palmeiras and they ‘expect to close the deal’ for €30m."

"Faux - Yep, I wouldn't really want him as first choice, and maybe they can work on the knee over the summer to improve it."

"Gibbs White is the perfect Paqueta replacement but agree, if we aren't getting any funds in from his sale then unlikely to happen.... Jota Silva more likely and I'd be very happy with him."

Was checking ... Gibbs-White left Wolves for Forest in Aug 2022 3 months before Lopetegui took the job there so it wasnt him who sold him

Zouma looks stiff legged as though he is protecting that knee or he just doesnt have the flexibility in the joint. Have quoted the example a couple of times of him chasing Jackson of Chelsea for one of their goals. Like a man with a wooden leg That said I doubt whether he would pass a medical so we may well have him next season We may well buy two of these wingers ... we will be replacing Paqueta and BELATEDLY Benrahma & Fornals Although maybe Loppy will give Cornet a chance

"Ludo - I like Gibbs White too but can only see us moving for him if Paqueta is banned and even then Forest will want around 35 mill imo, and it looks like we are dropping circa 30 mil on the Brazilian."

"Stowie.40 - A forward isn't going to be that pricey, either En Nesyri or Awoniyi, who seem to be our primary targets, would cost less than 20m. I wouldn't be surprised if we go back in for Bruno because at 15m he is going to be a lot cheaper than Kilman, unless TS has someone else from abroad on his radar. Agree that Greaves would be a great addition and could grow into the role for years to come. Edwards would be useful too. Would love to see Gibbs White come in... largely depends how desperate Forest are to sell and I expect there would be lots of takers. If not him then O'Hare on a free as back up."

"Funny with Zouma, I don't think he's as bad as most think, yes he's slow in some ways but he looked OK to me towards the end of the season and I wouldn't mind him sticking around, on his day he is still a useful defender at this level. Fwiw, I doubt we will sign both Edwards and Greaves."

"From what I've read, Lopetegui plays with his ""wide"" forwards very narrow, since it's the fullbacks providing the width...very much inside forwards rather than wingers. On that basis ""left"" Vs ""right"" is probably less important than ensuring the wider forwards are comfortable playing in more central areas. Most of the Brazilian views on Guilherme are that he is really a no. 10 who is quite similar in his play to Rivaldo, so no doubt will be fine to grow into either inside forwards roles in a 4-3-3. Bottom line he's super talented, and we're trying to get in at the right point in time...wait 3 years and he's out of our league, or disappeared without trace. If we want to he in for players who could become the next big thing at a world class level, we have to take these chances. He's also an 18 year old kid...so can't be expected to come in and tear up the league from the get go."

You need 4 centre halves & Ogbonna is gone & Aguerd & maybe Zouma going You’d need some more experience & if it’s not Bruno then maybe Kilman (if the manager wants him) with Mavropanos Greaves & Edwards

I agree Nagel long as the other positions get sorted but I’ll be surprised if we haven’t dented our kitty spending 25m on this kid. My concern is we don’t get a Forward and Lopetegui is happy to carry on with Antonio after he wanted him at Wolves

"Faux 1.22 do you mean Edwards & Greaves as back up centre backs, as a pairing of those two in the heart of our defence would lead to an even leakier defence than this season? I watched Edwards in a few games in Peterborouhs promotion push including the play offs and he looked too small for a centre back and nowhere near good enough, never seen Greaves play so can't comment"

"With the Paqueta £85m disappearing we will have to wheel & deal Was Kehrer £11m, should get £15m for Benrahma & if we can get an auction going for Aguerd in France that could be £30m Hopefully some of our youngsters can step up & have said I’d like to see Greaves & Ronnie Edwards as centre halves who shouldn’t be crazily expensive"

Hopefully we are still in for Jota Silva who can play on the left. I assume that Guilherme is largely seen as a Kudus replacement for the season after next but that he will get quite a bit of game time this season. Exciting times. Presumably Paqueta will be around until his fate is decided so could well play quite a bit of next season if it all drags out.

"Guilherme can play as a 10 as well as RW, same as Kudus. As he's only 18 he might be being bought to ease him into the team as a sub/backup for Bowen and Kudus, at least until next season. As long as there's still money in the kitty for a LW, striker and all the other positions that are much higher priority then all well and good I suppose."

"Even a couple of posts down say that he plays through the middle lately and that’s his best position. Add to that he plays wing back and the fact loppy has said it’s not all about rigid positions, I think you will see all three play and interchange. Plus are we only ever going to have a starting eleven, we are allowed good subs as well."

"Article I read said Luis G can play right, left or as a number 10. Paqueta won’t be with us one way or another Bowen is going nowhere & suspect we will have Kudus for one more season before his buyout kicks in. All the more reason to get a couple of these young players in to share the load with each other & hopefully step up the season after"

"It's not just that he's a right winger, but that he's a left footed right winger the same as Bowen and Kudus. I wonder if we might cash in on one of them this summer now Paqueta is likely to stay if this kid joins."

I read Guilherme is a right winger. He sounds exciting but I was hoping we would prioritise the left wing given we have Bowen and Kudus who prefer the right side.
