"Been through bad time lately with suffering with this. Dark thoughts as well. I know some posters on here suffer with this. Anyone come through the other side of this shit?
"A number of posters have been yellow carded and told to stay off this thread unless they have anything constructive to add. This is a thread that has been very useful to so many, for any other posters with scores to settle, argue on another thread. This thread is sacrosant.Thank you"

"Chim, I am glad there is some else on here who has appreciated and benefitted from NLP. First heard of it in 2009, got a pocket book at an airport to carry round whilst commuting etc. Then invested in a more in depth book, without doubt changed my brain at the time in regard to work and getting out of a slump. After reading the pocket book and using methods and simple things like mirroring and learning stuff I missed as a kid, like the creative and factual ( wrong word I know ) side of the brain and eye contact. For teaching it was so useful. Most people I taught in business and sport all borrowed one of my NLP books and all set goals and found beneficial in their personal and professional life. I need to get back and have another read, without doubt its a method that can change how a brain thinks and helps one communicate a lot clearer. This thread is the most constructive of 2020 and hopefully may help people get support and not hide. Defjam told me of here, which is a good place https://www.thecalmzone.net/ Finally just for StorminNorman, https://www.veteransservicelse.nhs.uk/ COYIs."

Mike Oxsaw 11:16 Wed Jan 29 Fair point. I think you are displaying a level of sensitivity that I have not yet reached. :) I just hope those that are still mentally in the 'you just need to cheer up and get a grip etc' zone get the help they need sooner or later.

"I got fcked up for two years not so long ago, its not nice. Mostly healed now though, no drugs needed, just ten weeks with a psychology therapist and many months working on that experience. Use your friends and fam to talk if you can."

Mike Objective truths are not this site’s strength. It’s a bit of an asylum and always has been. There are only a few moments when the site comes together. If the mods could pin up any known services for people in need of help for mental health that would be good but bearing in mind people live all over the World even that is tricky so this thread should still give some pointers for those seeking advice.

"Bungo 10:12 Wed Jan 29 I think I understand where you're coming from, but some of these ""less helpful"" comments might well be the nearest some posters can currently get to asking for help. If that's the case then we should tolerate such posts and maybe even ""nudge"" those posters to help them make that big first step. For some, asking for help (in these matters) is tantamount to admitting you're a failure. You're not (by a long shot) but those beliefs are so strongly institutionalised in some that going against them threatens often the only things they know & understand. It's a leap of faith, not a leap into the unknown, but it must seem like the latter to some."

Mods Just a thought but how about removing some of the 'less helpful' comments from this thread?

"normannomates 4:46 Tue Jan 28 I think the thing that keeps you on the rails is the fact that you can often be monumentally stupid. The default stupid male doesn't really think and so how can he get depressed? Shit's passing over his head all the time. It's the sensitive, clever people who see the tragedy all around them and they need a little help in processing their feelings in a more positive way. NLP, CBT and mindfulness do their best to rewire certain situations that occur in your head and try and turn those feelings positively. Life is great, life is terribly sad. Both of those statements are correct. The question is, which one are you going to concentrate on for the sake of your mental health?"
