"Agree NYC I’d had enough of Moyes rinse and repeat style 2 years ago. We’ve proven quite a few times we can get the better of these cunts and it absolutely matters, whether it matters enough to Moyes for him to grow some bollocks I’m not sure. Fed up of this shit though."

We’re back to the place where Moyes has nowhere to hide after the Newcastle surrender. Expect an improved performance but who can predict the result? Score draw.

"JWP is a weird one. His open play is very unimpressive. When he is assisting and scoring, like at the start of season, he is superb dispite of his poor contribution to open play."

"Of course we have a chance. Yes same again as the team and hopefully Moyes doesn't screw it up. I expect us to score a few, but will we score more than them?"

Steady I remember people said that last time we played. Football is hard to call when teams get only two days rest between games. I wouldn’t be so sure if I were you.

"Alas I see only a defeat without Alvarez. No Areola could factor in too as he has been in great form and while Fab is always decent he’s not quite at that level anymore. Coufal and Zouma against the speedy Spurs attack and midfielders are vulnerable and Soucek and JWP are not going to provide too much protection. We go all out attack they murder us on the counter and Moyes built his team and squad ( its tge same thing with 13 players ) to sit deep, low block, in shape and counter. Thats probably all we can and will do. But Antonio aint out sprinting that Van Der Geezer they have. He’s allegedly the fastest player not just defender in the league? All points to a 2 or 3 goal margin defeat. But got to hope for a surprise that crops up every now and the in football like our “smash and grabs” this season at Arsenal, Spurs away, Brighton, Burnley etc. unfortunately they were away mostly so Alamo tactics easier to get away with. If Moyes employs what he calls his attacking football = slow tempo , side to side we will lose it to their press. Probably long diagonals and counters or set pieces the best route for us once again. And dont be surprised if our possession is in the 25- 30 % range. No surprise as Zouma, Coufal, Soucek not the greatest passers especially when pressed."

"JWP is a strange one. Mate of mine is a Southampton fan and he was gutted when we got him. I was told we were getting a superb midfielder, but was he just a superb midfielder in a poor Southampton team? Would be interesting to see , as it would with a lot of other players, how good he would be under another manager. All I see under Moyes is a lot of players, not all, but a lot who have gone backwards."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Tottenham - Official Match Thread - Preview
I wasn't aware that Alvarez is missing for this one as well. That really is a blow - we missed his bite and drive at Newcastle. JWP just isn't good enough - I took a lot of abuse on here before we bought him for saying that apart from his set pieces he's just an average midfielder. Right now he looks worse than that - largely anonymous. The Phillips we used to see at Leeds would have been an excellent replacement but the current version is well off the pace. But I would still play him over JWP in the hope that he can wake the fuck up and find some form. Otherwise unchanged. If we take the game to them we've got a chance but if we go ahead and try to shut up shop.... how the fuck is it that Moyes seems incapable of learning this???

"I'd want both those given to us if they were at the other end. The reaction to the 2nd is way over the top, dopey play from the dud imo, yeah he didn't mean it, not really relevant for me. Gordon was sharp of mind and Phillips, albeit accidentally, booted him up in the air."

I only saw the second haff live. Just brought myself to watch the highlights and both penalties were fouls on the West Ham players. How many Saudi Riyals does that kind of service cost? Or have they changed the rules to say if you foul a defender in the box you get a free goal?

"Had we won on Saturday the place would be buzzing going into this, but now it feels like the exact opposite. I still can't believe what he did. Go a goal down and sack the cսnt on the touchline. Hope the northern monkey gets dogs abuse if the dinosaur dares wheel him out again. Was viewing hammers chat preview of this game, 'the guys' want Orford to start, never gonna happen though."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Tottenham - Official Match Thread
"LAF, isn't this the fallacy that the pro-Moyes brigade hang on to for dear life? Our expectations rose when we sold our home and began to spend enough to build a squad on a par with the other European contenders. Those expectations could and would be the same regardless of manager. If we weren't going to be contending then we could have stayed where we were."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Tottenham - Official Match Thread
Paul: you say you fear Moyes will be leaving us with no European football next year. Aren’t you inadvertently making a case for him due to your expectations? Pre-Moyes we rarely ever considered a fear like that.
