David Moyes

I see Moyes has ‘set up his team to old man’ their way through another game and get a result.

Top Top manager who should still be managing West Ham. Instead we had 2 inferior managers.

Absolute shambles!

It's strange, there are dozens of Ad Blockers freely available but no one has come up with a Spastic Blocker.  I'd pay for that.

Enjoyed his stewardship when it was going well but the wheels eventually came off and he's a hard bloke to like even when he's on the up. Once that relationship with the fans soured it was only a matter of time until the exit door beckoned. I feel that parting ways was best for all but as usual the parasitic poisonous porno dwarf made an dog's dinner of it, a mutual agreement so Moyes could walk off into the sunset after the ECL win should've been agreed or a contract extension should have been sorted so that he stayed motivated throughout the season. Alowing the uncertainty to drag on just wasted a year that could've been used to rebuild the squad.

He's enjoying a honeymoon with Everton and I suppose I can begrudge him a bit of a fairytale in guiding Everton to safety in their final season at Goodison Park. Ultimate judgement to be reserved for this time next year when he's had to contend with the stadium move, PSR/FFP encumberence, the league figuring out his tactics and his squad being a year older and responding perhaps not quite as readily to his methods.

It doesn’t look that bad with them winning, but we’ll see what happens if and when they go on a bad run.
I suppose they gambled and the cost to them going down with that new stadium makes the outlay worth it.

Think it was a family/geography thing. Irvine’scfamily all up North so did not want to live away from them.

What's the story there? Strange Irving stopped coaching for us, but is now straight back with Moyes.

Alan Irvine back in the dug out with Moyes at Everton. That could well be where it all went wrong for Moyes at West Ham.

Ooh Moyes won at Palace
When he took us there we got battered 5-2
And 5-0 at Fulham after losing 6-0 at home to Arsenal
Lost 20 League games the season before & conceded 74 in the League last season
Won the Europa Conference but should have won the Europa League the season before. Refused to take Julian Alvarez who went on to win the League with City & the World Cup
Good riddance

Bend as fuck before my time bloodsuckered the club never fully invested
In the 60s we was seriously massive,2nd English club to win in Europe then 3 players in world cup my dad told me we was as big as Spurs/Man U at the time
Treated the greatest player/captain England had like shit,at least Sullivan gave him a job writing one article a week for a grand in a rag later

Cearns was always the real problem, as Brown was an employee like Brady. I always thought Cearns was a bit shit but more of a tightarse and not able to invest anything due to not being rich enough for a football club in the Premier League era. Does your post intimate that he was actually more than that? i. e. He's worse than Sullivan because he CHOSE to be and was using the club?

I wouldn't be in the least surprised, just curious. You never get anyone talking about the Cearns family on here.

Please don't count the intertoto....which was great fun especially Metz and l was there but no way counts as major trophy
I kind of agree with you that the Intertoto wasnt a major trophy. It was a made-up third tier Euro competition that was only worth being in because if you won it youd get into the second tier, just behind the Champions League.

However, on that basis, Moyes did not win us our first major trophy in 43 years, he just did another third tier one and the FA Cup was still the last major tropby we won.

So he didnt win anything of note at all. Sullivan is ultimately to blame for appointing the boring Jock (twice) but that doesn't mean that Moyes is blameless, same as Brown appointing Roeder makes Brown an idiot but doesn't exonorate Roeder for being a shit manager.
Roeder was shocking manager even worse than Grant
Brown was also terrible owner but not as bad as Cearns who my dad knew unfortunately
Take Moyes and Sullivan anyday over those cunts

I’m pleased for him.  He has done a fantastic job in turning things around there in such a short time.

Was never really a fan of him here and relieved he was leaving, but there is no denying Sullivan has shown himself up for the fucking clueless cսnt he really is, having turned us to shit since Moyes left.

I hope Moyes slags him off when we meet them.

Right time for Moyes to go, but we’ve regressed as a club thanks to the 🤡 who owns it and his buy cheap buy twice manager policy. At least Spurs fans seem to be making more concerted efforts to make things uncomfortable for Levy. Our fans, like the players have given up the ghost.

"Most of our players are limited and Moyes got the very best by being economical with our approach."

2022/23 - Lost twenty league games
2023/24 - Conceded two goals a game in the league

All the while putting ten men behind the ball for eighty minutes, every game. If you still care about him, fuck off and support Everton
