"The first Superman was vaguely OK, spoiled only by the fact we've seen exactly the same film at least twice before, with Supes played by more endearing actors. Suicide Squad was indeed pants as was anything Batman related (JL, B V S). In fact the Batman stuff was beyond pants. Wonder Woman was pretty good, if a bit over-rated (Gosh! Women can make films that men want to see!), I loved Aquaman for its sheer chutpah and spectacle, Shazam was an enjoyable romp and Joker doesn't really count. I didn't much care for it, actually. All IMHO, of course. I'll be giving Birds of Prey a go at the weekend."

Watched/Read Parasite last night nearly turned it off after 30 mins but ended up really enjoying it.

"I liked Joker once it was apparent it wasn't a comic book movie in any way shape or form. It was a fairly predictable take on Scorcese ""little guy - nasty world"" films with some DC character names and a balls-out central performance. As for super-dupers, just three months until Black Widow."

"Shazam I didn't mind, Joker was awful."

"Might get out the Unlimited Card to see Birds of Prey tonight as well. I never expect anything from DC films, so it's a bonus if they're OK or better (Shazam, Joker... erm... that's about it)."

"JoJo Rabbit done last night. Would have worked just as well as a warm, funny and quirky story with just half as much of the imaginary Fuhrer schtick, I thought. Even so, Taika Waititi did a fine job in creating a child's perception of Golden Ol... sorry, Adolf Hitler. ScarJo's acting has been (rightly) lauded in this one but I thought Sam Rockwell put in a great shift to create Hollywood's most sympathetic Nazi."

"White Pony 3:38 Thu Feb 13 Re: 2020 Movies I saw it last night and was pleasantly surprised by it! Thought it was much better than Suicide Squad which was bloody awful. Action was fun and the fight choreography was impressive, much like John Wick films. Harley is an annoying character though."

"Saw 1917 and Parasite at the flicks this week, both outstanding. They both got better as they went along and was in no hurry to leave, even though I'd been sitting in a dark room for over 2 hours without moving. Must get onto Joker and The Gentlemen. Fancy Marriage Story too, anyone viewed it yet, Soldo?"

"Also watched Once upon a t me in Hollywood over the weekend, wasnt that impressed with it, didnt seem like much of a plot at all. Saying that though Pitt really was superb in it and glad to see him finally get an Oscar."

Yeah thought Parasite was absolutely superb... the thing is with 1917 it's a Cinema film... to get the full aspect you have to be watching it on a IMAX... yes it's got holes galore but it's what you see in front of you which is the pulling point in this movie.... parasite you could watch on a old B&W portable and get as much enjoyment as watching it on the big screen... just a brilliant bit of story telling...

"Finally got round to watching Parasite, did not disappoint, 5 minutes in you almost forget you're reading subtitles you're just so engrossed in the story. I saw they are apparently planning an american remake in a Tv series format soon, really hope they don't go through with it."

"Just seen 1917 , simply brilliant, best film of the year by far . Parasite must be fantastic if it topped that for an oscar"

Just finished watching the irishman. What a load of self indulgent overlong boring shit Absolutely no need whatsoever for it to be 3 and a fucking half hours long. Carried on watching because People kept saying the 3rd act is simply amazing. Nope. Still boring.

Watched most of the best picture nominees... my preference was; Once Upon a Time in Hollywood > Parasite > JoJo Rabbit > 1917 > Joker > The Irishman
