Anxiety/depression
"Been through bad time lately with suffering with this. Dark thoughts as well. I know some posters on here suffer with this. Anyone come through the other side of this shit?
"A number of posters have been yellow carded and told to stay off this thread unless they have anything constructive to add. This is a thread that has been very useful to so many, for any other posters with scores to settle, argue on another thread. This thread is sacrosant.Thank you"

"I know it's so hard for those struggling at times, but when things get really bad, you always have to keep telling yourself one thing, no matter how you feel... You'll never be as thick as BRANDED."

"A thread on weak minded divs, what a surprise Bolty is all over it as an expert witness. Only popped in to see if anything a changed. Gank posting a superb reply treat gets a few knickers in a twist and Bolty being a mong. Good to see the site is the same as always. I’ll pop back in a few months. Keep it up."

"Block 5:20 Wed Jan 15 More connected? Possibly. Better connected? I doubt it. As I alluded to in an earlier post, as a nipper, before the days of mobiles & the internet, we all had fewer connections, but they were generally of better, or more useful, quality. On some of the ""advice"" I've seen bandied about on social media, it would have been vastly improved by replacing it with a complete stranger's horoscope."

"alfs barnet 5:16 Wed Jan 15 People are more connected now, which is probably why people are hearing more and more about it on SM or the news etc, back then it was hard to spread the word so fast about the issues, that and how people as you say covered it up. Sold0, he's an epic fisherman, to be fair."

Re: Anxiety/depression
"BRANDED wrote... Japs have a history of suicide. Indeed, it is more honorable in their history. We, in the other hand, have traditionally covered it up. I forget which year suicide was legalized here, but before that, suicides were often recorded as accidental deaths etc. Families often covered suicide up if possible. People talk about this stuff as if it's a modern thing. My great gran was one of 10 siblings. Out of the 5 deaths we know about, 4 committed suicide and she tried to do it twice. Her brother was the first - put his head in the oven in 1939 (not recorded as suicide)."

Dandy Lyon 1:54 Wed Jan 15 You wanted to post a comment but changed your mind. Hope you're OK but do you know the source of your name? Dent de lion is French for 'Tooth of lion.' If you look at the serrated outline of a dandelion leaf its similar to the jagged tooth shape of lions to rip meat.even though the French have never called it 'dent de lion'. They call it 'pissenlie' or 'wet the bed'.... go figure!

Re: Anxiety/depression
To commit Hari kari I don't think you have to be depressed.... just disgraced.... Bolty... I'm not on Instagram and Twitter etc... got a FB account but only flick through there a couple of times a week... to be fair WHO is really my only social platform... and yeah this place is depressing enough especially with fucking threads like this...
Re: Anxiety/depression
"Sold0, social media IN MY OPINION is the biggest cause of what people THINK depression is, anxiety IMO is just a cause of unresolved issues and worrying about future events. People are competitive, compare themselves against others and often crave what others appear to have, and get down because they do not have a baby or a nice car or whatever. In reality this isn't actual depression, but more people are becoming more and more depressed about themselves because they constantly compare all the time and now openly talking about it, of course all my opinion."

Re: Anxiety/depression
What I’m getting at Bolty is I have no doubt it has been there since the dawn of time… what I can’t get my head around is your statement saying it’s Modern day living that’s making it more `known about’… I mean having rations of whale meat and powdered egg and having to use the Evening Standard to wipe my arse would tip me over the edge for sure… thank god Kandoo’s has kept me sane…
Re: Anxiety/depression
The estrogen thing makes me curious. Is there a lot of foods that has this in it?
Re: Anxiety/depression
"Japan has one of the lowest officially recognised rates of depression in the world. But it has a higher suicide rate than any rich nation except Belgium. Bit odd. Also the fact that it's mainly a western problem and the third world just got on with ot is a fallacy. Places like Afghanistan, African nations, and middle East all top the charts for depression. Could be a chemical thing. We've been putting shit in our air, food, and water for a few decades now."
