?"Been a while since we've had one of these, and the nights are drawing in, so I need something new to watch. A few to get things going.. ""Cold War"" (1998) Series made by the same people who did 'The World at War'. Covers the period from 1945 to 1991. This is episode 1, the same person's put up all the other episodes too.. ""To Mars by A-Bomb: The Secret History of Project Orion"" (2002) BBC film about the Cold War era plan to build an ocean liner-sized spaceship, propelled by endless external nuclear explosions. Fascinating from start to finish. ""Reggae"" (1971) Film about the 1970 Wembley reggae festival. Live clips, interviews, etc. If you like old ska/reggae you'll love it. "

claypole... excellent watch that .... real double edged sword... do NASA tell the crew they are fucked or not... only positive I could see out of it is that the crew could have said goodbye to their love ones... think I'd have rather not known myself.

"Sunderland Til I Die season 3 ""dropped"" on Netflix this week. It's 3 episodes covering when they got promoted back to the Championship. Re-watched the first 2 series as well, it is excellent even if you're not a fan of football."

"Chim Agreed. Watched it last night after the recommendations on here, very underwhelmed by it. I thought when they discovered the copper was that bird's ex, that would be a can of worms, but it was never mentioned again. All a bit half arsed and far too long."

"I watched American Nightmare tonight and I am sorry to say that I thought it was a bit shit. When the detective found the strand of blonde hair why the fuck didn't they test it for a DNA sample? Also, why did they not expand on the fact that the top FBI agent on the case used to go out with the woman the two accused worked with. It came across as sloppy police work but I am betting there's another story there that the documentary makers bottled out of."

"El Scorchio 2:54 Wed Feb 14 I think each piece of the documentary was released separately so there's a longer length One Year In A Life of Crime released in 1989, and a sequel released in 1998. I haven't seen them though, the condensed version was enough to fuck up my week. Gutting."

Glad you enjoyed it NS! It's a really good/hard hitting bit of film-making isn't it. Pulls no punches.

Cheers Vexed and Scorch had a spare couple of hours last night so went on your recommendation... have to say as hard/heartbreaking as it was to watch it‚Äôs probably one of the greatest docs I have seen... the doc maker was lucky that he got to follow three brilliant characters on their journey through life... just a shame that the 4th that bully woman beating cry baby cսnt decided to pull the plug. A riveting watch and have to say I shed a tear at the end ... and I agree with you Vex... show that to youngsters.... that‚Äôs your glamour of a life in drugs. 10/10

"Absolutely. Really shows the complete viciousness of the cycle they get caught up in and how hard it is to break. Maybe even from something small in the first place, and they aren't really bad people necessarily either."

El Scorchio 1:59 Tue Feb 13 Fucking savage innit? An absolute gut punch. But I can honestly say that it's changed my thinking on these types of people and how badly the cards are stacked against you if you find yourself in that position. I think they should make kids watch it in their early teens just to show them the reality that some people end up in through some bad decisions.
