"All 4 parts available on Iplayer. A grim difficult watch, but have to say Coogan absolutely nailed it. Would absolutely be nailed on for a BAFTA it wasn't for the subject matter."

Great acting by Coogan in the first episode that I’ve watched. The Netflix series on Saville showed what a monster he really was but had a Rasputin type influence over our new King who saw Saville as some kind of mentor. Staggering that both Charles and his brother had for best mates the two most notorious paedophiles operating on both sides of the Atlantic. I’d be more interested in any dramatisation of the Saville story if the writers and producers had the balls to do a deep dig into our King’s friendship with him and the protection that was given to exposing his actions as a result.

I'm not a huge fan of Steve Coogan the man but Steve Coogan the actor is superb. Thought he was outstanding and it takes some balls to take on the part of someone as repulsive as Savill. I binge watched all 4 episodes and found it to be a well written story despite some of the scenes being made up to add dramatic effect but well worth the watch if you haven't seen it.

"My wife's friend used to work for the BBC in the 70's and used to go to watch them record top of the pops on a Wednesday. Everyone used to go up to the bar afterwards and someone told her to avoid a little crowd at the end of the bar as they were wrong uns. Gary glitter Jimmy saville Les gray and a few others, so it was well known then that they were at it. When it actually came out that Jimmy saville and people like cyrille smith were child molestors was anyone really suprised"

Good t.v compared with 99% of shit on it Great acting . Can't understand Why people are watching it? What a stupid remark to say. Maybe everyone should stop watching the news as well. Coogan nails everything he does .

"Will watch this soon. When I knew Coogan was playing him, I knew he’d absolutely nail it. The Louis Theroux doc is still on iPlayer I think, and is definitely worth another watch, even if you’ve already seen it."

"Swiss you are right about the institutions covering up,but that's mainly in the pass. Alot more difficult to get away with now with this type of behaviour as Brand is finding out I really do think this programme helps in a small way as people are talking about it. Think this shit still happens in care homes and councils cover it up."

"joyo 2:13 Wed Oct 11\ How by watching it can stop it happening when instituions like the BBC, The Church and possibly governments keep it hidden? Sickning to say it will happen again but hopefully people will be more on the look out."

"Not sure I really want to watch this. The cսnt was everywhere in the media during my formative years, so I can't deny that he was a significant presence in the tapestry of my youth - don't forget we had very few media source options back then. Now I already know/knew the story behind him, I suspect that it won't offer (me) much more; what I'd be more interested in would be all those closely associated with him who seem to have melted into the shadows or have been given an establishment get-out-of-jail-free card on this."

"Looking back on the whole Savile thing, it seems that those far closer to the ends of the educational spectrum were far less able to accept that he was a nonce than those with a more balanced education. He wanted to record an episode of Savile's Travels where I was doing my apprenticeship; the management announced it with aplomb and glee and were absolutely aghast with disbelief when every single worker there basically said ""If he sets a foot in here, we're walking out."" It was an open secret even back in 1973. I believe they did eventually record the show at stupid o'clock with a scripted actor playing the part of a telephone engineer."

"Started to watch, but he's such a vile character, there's so much to get angry about, I just didn't think I wanted to stick it out for four hours - especially as there was no justice at the end of it. There were people who were fooled by him, and people who weren't and let him get away with it. Two different types."
