So they’ve finally reformed after years of speculation and denial and announced a 2025 tour. Musical geniuses or a bunch of cunts?
I’m IN.

Ok I take it back, Noel Gallagher is up there with Mozart for genius in composition and will be remembered for hundreds of years.

GANK WROTE: You’ve just put Noel Gallagher up there with Mozart with that outrageous and ridiculous claim. I’m pretty sure that even Gallagher himself would call you a spastic for that.
RUSS OF THE BLM WROTE:
Oh leave off. You can't have that number of songs rattling around in your head and not be a genius. And to get them out of your head, onto paper and into music form. Again, genius. Weller called Gallagher a genius and I am sure Gallagher didn't call Weller a spastic.
And another thing, by your comment you suggest Mozart was a genius. No argument. But why Mozart and not Gallagher? Just because Mozart wrote classical music? Stupid comment.

I finally got through in the afternoon after starting at 316,000th in the queue. Either VIP tickets or standing for about the same price (about £360-£500).
Fuck that, wouldn't have minded going but not getting mugged for it.

My boy got 4 tickets, albeit VIP ones,£450 each. Not his first choice but that's all he could get so better than nothing he reckons. He flew in from Perth in July to come with me to see Springsteen at Wembley so he knows what to expect from a big stadium gig. He'll bring 3 Aus mates with him and I'm just waiting for the request asking to put them all up for a fortnight, my Mrs can't wait!

Is it true that many tickets were expected to be around £150 & when people got all the way through they were being offered at £350 or thereabouts?
Ouch!
Yep.
They get away with it like hotels and flights by having a market pricing clause in their terms and conditions.
All perfectly legal.

This might be a good gig if they promise to play nothing after about 1996. People getting rinsed for nearly 500 notes for a 150 note ticket to stand at the arse end of an enormous stadium, amongst cunts to watch a band that haven't been even half competent since the late 90s is a bit cheeky though innit? What lineup is it going to be? Are they gonna dredge up Guigsy and Bonehead or is it gonna be the two Thunderbirds and some faceless session musicians standing at the back in the shadows?

I was a very, very lucky boy at 9am yesterday - number 268 in the queue, had 4 standing tickets by 9:05am
Really looking forward to it

Is that the lefty guardian that published an article yesterday titled … The real magic of Oasis? They made a better kind of Britain seem briefly possible
A couple of days previously they had an article by a music critic who wasn’t a fan
Varying opinions published so readers can make up their own minds
Radical !

always been a big fan of the music, saw them in the early days at Earl's Court, but had no interest being stuck at knebworth with 90,000 others.
Guns n Rose's kept it together on tje reunion and made a fortune, be interesting to see if these shows happen.

Blur v Oasis … jumpers for goalposts eh?
To be honest not really a fan of either
That said if someone is throwing hundreds of millions at a couple of 50 somethings to regurgitate their old hits then good luck to them

I couldn’t stand them when they were at their “best” so I certainly am not interested now that they’re old men.

Hoping they come to Vegas, they didn't really crack America so doubt it'll be a stadium gig if they do come.

To be honest I was ALWAYS a huge fan of The Verve
Oasis? Good debut album but a case of the law of diminishing returns after that.
Do you know what I mean? Is an absolute banger though...

When I was working I saw them sound check at Wembley and later I saw their whole set at Milton Keynes. Both times they played My Generation. All I can say is that I saw the Who live and they would have blown Oasis off the stage.
Thinking about it, Keith Moon has blown himself off the stage!

I'm 100% in, they're the reason I picked up a guitar! Although I've moved on from their music, I'll be desperate to go with my mates and relive a great time to be a teenager in the 90s

Noel is a musical genius imo. His body of work is outrageous. Liam was a great front man and icon for a generation. Will be great to see them live again. I just hope Liam's voice holds up.
