Angelos Postecoglou

Post Sydney_Iron »

"As much as i dont like Spurs! Since this bloke came in i do like watching them play, nearly every game its good attacking football and goals, has to be the most attack minded manager in the PL and sends his players out to have a real go, take a risk and entertain. Was linked with us for a good while..............if only :-( Still hope they win fuck all but respect to big Ange for the football he sends his teams out to play."

Seems pretty obvious that he is getting the sack whatever they do in the Europa. You’d reckon it will be this week if Eintracht knock them out.
It’s obvious at this level you have to have a Plan B … unless you have the players that Pep has. And he could probably do with one if he wanted the Champions leagues they could have won over the last 5 years
Also think he has suffered by answering questions too honestly and means you get more as the press know you are good for a headline.

I hate Spurs - But say what you like - Some of their fans are not cunts and are just basically the same as us. I have many Spurs pals and they are all pretty much credible football fans who understand football and are just down to earth people. I know you don't want to hear that but its true. Yes, all clubs have massive cunts that support them and there is a valid arguments that Spurs are quite top heavy with cunts and especially deluded cunts. Even my Spurs pals agree with me on that. But so does every club have cunts that support them, even West Ham. We have some proper fucking retards in our fan base. That's just football. It brings out the zombies.

But, going back to your point, you state that he is right about Spurs fans being cunts, but then state the bloke has no Plan B which you need at this level. Well, that's what Spurs fans on the whole have been saying. So who is the cսnt? You raise a point about him being too honest, may have a point. But that's another thing that winds Spurs fans up, majority of time he is in pressers moaning and whinging and almost looking like he wants to kill himself. But its just not very inspiring.

Why is he still playing suicide football out from the back. OK if you are Celtic and playing Kilmarnock, but this is the PL. He hasn't resolved huge issues with their style and, although they have had injuries, alot of my mates have said their style is problem, not the injuries (although haven't helped). They can't defend. They don't score enough goals. Simple.

Its not often I defend Spurs fans. I may have mellowed in my older age. But let's have it right. They have every reason to moan as he has been an absolute disaster for them.... And long may it continue.

New he was a fake from the beginning. I could manage Celtic to win the Premiership. Still their loss and our gain. A shame we are as usless as them at picking managers.

I can't believe they gave him the job - he's a bullshitter. I reckon he's a good talker/motivator, gets off to a good start then runs out of buzzwords and team building rubbish and the players start zoning out and not listening. And then all he has to fall back on is his experience at socceroos, some jap club and one? season at Celtic. Nowhere near good enough for the English leagues. 😂

from some yid EYETEEKAY:
From what I understand, even if Ange Postecoglou were to win the Europa League and avoid the sack, he would still consider leaving Spurs this summer. He has been taken aback by the toxicity of the fanbase and believes it reflects a deeper, more systemic problem within the club. A pretty damning assessment.
i'm starting to come around on rotund angelos.

The bloke is an absolute bell-end.

Gives his opinion on everything, young players, social media, mobile phones, media questioning, moles in the camp.... Yes, he may have some valid points, but as my Spurs pal said "Give your opinion after you have stopped your team conceding goals and playing suicide football out from the back".

A man that comes across as smug when he wins and bitter when he loses. Been a disaster for Spurs and is an absolute prick. Hope he stays with them long term, but I can't see it.

To be fair, we could do worse than field a kangaroo if it can pass. Already makes it better than half our squad.

His style will never work consistently in the PL.
I think this is true, at least in terms of being a contender for winning the league. If you're a club that doesn't have the financial backing to be a contender anyway and will at best finish 5th-10th with maybe a good cup run then he's the perfect sort of manager.

I'd rather have the sort of manager who will entertain you even when you lose or draw and give you hope that you'll do better next time, than the sort who will bore the shit out of you even when you win and leave you with the empty feeling that things will never get much better.

I think they'll just sack him, install a caretaker and start a search for the summer. They don't fuck about with these things unlike Sullivan, who would keep the guy on while feeding the media loads of stories he's a dead man walking and make him even more of a lame duck, and create a ridiculous situation at the club, in addition to actively searching for a new manager behind the current one's back without having the decency to say anything to the incumbent.

Levy, cսnt as he is, runs them professionally and like a proper business. Sullivan runs us like a fucking clown show.

If he rocked up here and tried to play 'ange ball' we'd get ripped apart worse than under Lop. No way would our players be able to manage. He's only managed to not have that happen more at spurs largely because Van Der Ven is so fucking rapid he can cover for so many mistakes or problems. You can play like that if you've got a team ridiculously better than everyone else in the league like he had at Celtic or maybe at PSG or a couple of other clubs, but you'll get worked out in the end anywhere where there's proper competition.

Tin tack if he loses this thursday. Shame actually, seen as they might get someone better in if he goes.

They spanked Villa 4-0 at Villa Park last season. Haven't played them yet this season. They also beat Man City 4-0 and Man Utd 3-0 on away days this season.

Agree though that he's definitely the sort of manager who'd get much better results at home than away, a bit like we used to have under Redknapp. I'd take that over the dismal shit we get now.
The result against Villa was over a year ago.
Man Utd and Man City are having probably their worst seasons in over 10 years.
And their home form has seen them lose to Ipswich and Leicester.

Jesus, how can anyone look at Spurs and want Ange at West Ham?
They have managed to be this woeful with a bigger and better squad than ours - fuck knows how much trouble we'd be in with him as manager.
And I don't care about the injury problems.
Some of that is luck but I'd be worried about what he and the coaching staff are doing over there to suffer that number of injuries.

A number of months ago I rated him as a coach and thought he was a good bloke, now I don't think he's a good coach but is an OK bloke, a bit arrogant and probably not as smart as he thinks he is.

I wouldn't take him at this point, injuries have cleared up and they can only beat Soton, think he is out of his depth in the PL and is a bit of a one trick pony. I'd surprised if he got another PL gig after Levy sacks him.

Anyway, we have another of our own problems.

They lost 14 the season before he joined them, and that was when they still had Kane getting them 30 goals a season. And, as said already, they still have a good chance of getting in the Champions League next season. Only the most arrogant and deluded Spurs fan would think that is "unacceptable" given their injuries this season.
