"SACKED by Roma. Get him in. I'd love us to be managed by Mourinho. What a great project for him next season. Sullivan, get it done."

"Was once 'The Special One'. Now I;m not so sure if he's even the 'The Good One'. I'd say he's more 'The Average One' now. You can't deny his record which is absolutely remarkable. He is no doubt one of the greatest managers of all time. But his major successes came a long time ago, and I do wonder if modern football has a place for him now. His methods of knowing how to turn off opponents ability to operate were great to watch, but it doesn't work anymore in my opinion. Add to that that he is now even more spiky, aggressive and miserable than he ever was. He doesn't come across as being a mis-understood genius anymore. He comes across as being a sour and nasty cսnt. In terms of West Ham, I don't see why we would move from Moyes to Mourinho because we've had enough of Moyes persistence in trying to stifle other teams rather than going out and beating them. It would be like for like. Just that Mourinho comes with a CV to die for. Mourinho turned a decent Spurs team into stoppers. He had success at Inter by creating a team that was too hard to score against. He was sacked from Madrid for being to defensive. He was told by the owners at Roma to come and 'do what you did at Inter'. But they were falling like a stone when he came in and they needed a complete change to stop that. Moyes to Mourinho is not what West Ham needs right now."

"I believe Roma are owned by American's now, if it was still Italian's they might have bought into his bravado and arrogance a bit more, but a couple of smart Yanks are probably think this guys a douchebag and is not good for our 'brand'. Wasn't he getting sent off pretty much every week towards the end, lol. Suspect he will have his usual sabbatical until the summer as he does when he gets sacked around this time of year, do a bit of punditry while telling anyone who will listen how much he misses the game but will wait until the right offer comes along before he goes back in. I'm sure the missus will be happy he's coming back home :-)"

"Doubt he'd come to West Ham anyway. He's talked in the past about possibly trying his hand at international management. Ironically, that might be the best thing for him - as he'll spend less time with the players (so won't alienate them quite so easily) and will garner some respect for what he's achieved. The Brazil job comes up for grabs in the summer. Reckon he might be on the shortlist."

"I should add, I've met Mourinho a couple of times (years ago) and I liked him in person. He's got a good sense of humour and, half of the time, he's sending himself (and the sport) up. He's also brighter than your average manager, owner - and many of the tab hacks who he deals with at press conferences. But I can certainly see why some people think he's just arrogant."

"Really admire what he's done but don;t think he's a great fit for us with what we seem to be trying to do or getting to, and he'll never come here either, or will have far more lucrative offers elsewhere. Can't see him playing nicely with a sporting director and not absolutely butting heads with Sullivan within the space of six months. It will likely all end in tears, as they say."

"This is one that I think Roma's top brass will regret. They're smarting because they lost the cup quarter final, which was a Rome derby against Lazio, last week then followed it up with an away defeat at Milan. That league game could have gone either way, and was 2-1 until the 87th minute, with Roma all over them. Bizarrely, Milan did a West Ham on Roma: they had less possession, even at home. Mourinho has been trying to get Roma to be a bit more possession based this season - hence the indifferent form. A draw in either of those games and he would probably still be there. But his problem - as everybody knows - is that he rubs people up the wrong way. So he rarely gets the benefit of the doubt from owners - rightly or wrongly they think he's an arrogant prick and part company with him even when things are not that bad."

"Takashi Miike 12:31 Tue Jan 16 ""I'm not sure he ever manager them for a full season"" Then you're making him look even better. His team scored 100 goals by March, he was then famously sacked in April just before the cup final."

"goose 12:30 Tue Jan 16 Agree with pretty much all of that. I've got a lot of respect for Mourinho, a proper football man who doesn't pamper to the modern day pro, balls of steel etc. But he really wouldn't be a good fit for us now, besides isn't Moyes staying?"

"As a person i bloody love him. He's a winner and a bit of an arsehole but also loves the game and has a good sense of humour. Roma have slipped in the table the past few weeks, but CL is still only 5 points away. I'm sure I read his contract is up in the summer? Anyway, would i want him here? No thanks I think we should be looking at someone younger and more innivative."

It's still fucking shit"

"It's a WHO thing to have a thread with a load of posts on a player or manger that is never coming here, so what harm does one more make. Let's see if we can all waste our time by getting this one up to over 100 posts, 'coz get what, he WON'T be our next manager, thank fuck."

"strangely enough, our team is already a Mouhrinho type team anyway. He probably would make us better as it's pretty much his style of football anyway! I dont think I could handle it though. I cant watch that shit week in and week out. Bad enough watching it now sometimes."

Mourinho major honours: 2 x Champions League Winner 3 x Premier League Winner 2 x Serie A Winner 1 x La Liga Winner 2 x Primeira Liga Winner 1 x FA Cup Winner 3 x League Cup Winner 1 x Copa Del rey Winner 1 x Copa Italia Winner 1 x UEFA Cup Winner 1 x Europa Conference League Winner etc. Moyes Major Honours: 1 x Europa Conference League Winner. There's your answer for why I want serial winner Mourinho to replace Moyes.

Can you explain why you would want to replace one negative has-been with another? No of course you can't.
