5 Test series : India v England
"All 4am starts in the UK 1st Test Jan 25-29 2nd Test Feb 2-6 3rd Test Feb 15-19 4th Test Feb 23-27 5th Test Mar 7-11 Harry Brook has gone home ,replaced by Dan Lawrence of Surrey Virat Kohli not available for first 2 Tests Indian coach Dravid reckons the First Test pitch might turn. No shit Sherlock England havent bothered with a warm up game presumably as they would be put on a green top against an attack of medium pacers"

Re: 5 Test series : India v England
I see Anderson is up to 699 wickets now Not sure he will really want 700 to be an Indian tailender to wrap an innings with England miles behind and on track for an innings defeat Might save it for the first Test of the summer ... v West Indies July 10-14 at Lords

Re: 5 Test series : India v England
I don't think Foakes batting is an issue. All England will do is replace him with the tubby ginger northerner who has pretty much the save average as him recently. Foakes has faced the 3rd most balls in this series. He knows how to stick around which is massively useful when you have a team of BATTERS that like to throw their wicket away.

Re: 5 Test series : India v England
"India might sneak in a few overs tonight Had a quick look at Foakes Test record Has played 25 Tests with 19 of them away from home .... Sri Lanka, Windies, India & NZ 8 of his Tests have been away in India where presumably they thought a better keeper was needed ... but that wouldnt help his batting Needs a run of home Tests to cement his place ... in those 6 home Tests he has scored 240 @ 40"
Re: 5 Test series : India v England
"""An option is for him to take the Turtles"" No. He hasn't kept for Surrey for year because of, well, you know who. James Rew is a distinct possibility if his first season form countinues for Somerset with bat and gloves. Apparently he is a very good keeper as well."

Re: 5 Test series : India v England
"Ollie Pope is such a strange one, I never watch him and ever think he's in. Obviously that 196 will keep him in the team now until he retires, and it was class, but it's an anomaly, look at his first innings in that Test, and everything since. As I said, rarely looks 'in', and is too scratchy to bat 3. Yes he could get a score in the 2nd innings, but he's not for the long term imo. An option is for him to take the Turtles, really get him to focus on his keeping, and have him at 6/7 where he could do some damage on occasions, would be brilliant with the tail. He's a middle to late order batsman all day long. I've always backed Foakes, but unfortunately he just isn't a good enough batsman. Him batting with the tail is excruciating. If not, then Jamie Smith surely has to be given a go to keep, and bat Pope at 5, Bairstow really has to be dumped for good, regardless of the 2nd innings here. I'd rather give Brook a go at 3 playing BAZBALL, has the confidence for it."

"Yeah but no but Thats true but at the end of the day there is really only one Test series that matters As shown by Englands attitude to defeat in India .... SO PROUD, AT LEAST WE ARENT EASY BEATS (ignore that 434 run defeat)"

Re: 5 Test series : India v England
"Shane Keith Warne versus India - 43 wickets @ 47.18 in India - 34 wickets @ 43.11 everyone has anomalies on their record. Even the greatest. Or i could just be a giant bellend and claim that Warne was bang average against the likes of Tendulkar & Dravid, and made hay against Mark LATHWELL and co. The bowling version of a flat track bully. Meanwhile, James 'Jimmy' Anderson dismissed Tendulkar 9 times in test match cricket at an average of 23"

Re: 5 Test series : India v England
stewie is just hurt from Foakes wanting to level up in life. You will probably find he'll be the same with Dan Lawrence this year. ;-)

Re: 5 Test series : India v England
I think the obsession Stewie is that he is a keeper... he looks like a keeper... behaves like a keeper... moves like a keeper... ctaches like a keeper... stumps like a keeper... so fucking what that he's given away a few byes when the ball has been scuttling along the ground (last test)... I like JB... although his days might be numbered... but he aint and never will be a top class keeper... Foakes is. Oh and I'll take the blame for that session... woke up and saw the score and thought lovely will see Creepy get a well deserved 100.... by the time I'd sorted the ferrets out 6 wickets had fallen... too be fair Kuldeep for me is bowling like the best bowler in the series... great control for a wristy

Re: 5 Test series : India v England
"Foakes averages 29 and has conceded 24 byes in the last two tests. If Buttler or Bairstow had done similar, people would be having a meltdown. Obsession with him is just bizarre. Anderson has been our best seamer by a very wide margin in this series - although Wood has form for turning up in dead rubbers so there's time for that to change - and bowled much quicker than Robinson in the last test, which is frankly pretty embarrassing for Robinson. He'll go on as long as he is needed, which - apart from a poor summer - he still is. And when he gets to 708 in less balls than it took Warne, there'll be plenty of tears from our resident LOLstralian."
