Big Ange sticking up for overseas fans
"He maybe Spurs but he has a point. https://www.espn.com.au/football/story/_/id/39738217/tottenham-postecoglou-blaming-tourists-ticket-price-rise-harsh Asked whether Premier League clubs are prioritising attracting ""tourists"" or ""plastic fans"" who are willing to pay the most to attend a game, the Australian coach told a news conference: ""See that's really harsh. ""I'll tell you why: Because I'm probably plastic and tourist because I was coming from the other side of the world really passionate about football and if I could get access to see a Premier League game, that was the world to me. ""So, to label people plastic or tourist, I don't think that's fair just because people live on the other side of the world. This football club has supporters all over the world, has supporters all over the UK that don't always get access to the games of people who live here."

"Tourists just want to get a game in as part of a break. I’ve gone to games in Italy, Spain and Germany for that purpose. Have a few drinks and watch a European team. Nowt wrong with that. Plastics are generally glory hunting wankers who have no true passion for the club. They support Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd, Man City or Chelsea, because they have the best players and win the most trophies. I have no respect for these people and avoid talking about football with them. If you’re Norwegian or Australian and support West Ham, that is a bit different. You have picked the underdog, who is often shit and sometimes fighting relegation, but occasionally gives you joy. Begrudgingly I would put plastic Spurs fans somewhere in this category. They could follow a much more successful team but have chosen the perennial chokers instead. To be honest, I respect them more than the typical deluded Spurs fan."

I went to Denmark to watch Arsenal V Galatasaray in 99. Quite possibly the most boring game I’ve ever seen . Was the year when those two Leeds fans were murdered. Atmosphere was a bit tense.

"I've even bought a half and half scarf. Roma v Lyon, Europa League game. Used it to decorate my campervan. What have you got to say about that then?"

Re: Big Ange sticking up for overseas fans
"A reasonable point. ""Plastics"" refers to tourists etc who aren't particularly arsed about what team they're watching but just fancy a day out at the football. Nowt wrong with that either. I've done it myself in foreign countries."
