"Flippin ‘eck that’s sad. I think I need to stop popping my head in here. A nice bloke from my interactions with him. Missing Andy were a decent band too by the way - I know he managed them, not sure if family were in the band mind. Thoughts with family and friends"

"That's it, Missing Andy. Wasn't his son in the band or am I imagining that?"

It's funny as multiple friends know LOR but I don't - I clicked on this thread yesterday hoping/assuming it was about the Lightning Seeds. Shame it's not.

He was the label manager for the Essex band Missing Andy for a while.

Everytime I saw one of his posts I'd have the Lightening Seeds song running around in my head. Remember him coming across as a really nice bloke. IIRC he was super proud of a son in a band that a few on here used to follow a bit. Good luck mate

Been informed that Lee is critical in Hospital due to liver and kidney problems. Fingers crossed for him.

"Thanks mate. Just shocking news, he has 3 lads. Is it cancer? Maybe the OP has a bit more info, but will delicately see what's been heard elsewhere. Known Lee since I was 17, you're right a very generous bloke, would do you a favour without batting an eyelid. Was a bit of a latecomer to West Ham, but become a massive fan."

"Yes mate, that’s him - used to have a box over at UP for a few years etc. Effortlessly persuasive bloke. Rang me up at work one day and said “What are you doing tonight? Fancy coming to Man U away with me and Skerrit?” (a blast from the past name there for some of you) Said I’d love to but was at work, yet somehow ten mins later I’d booked half day and met him and Skerrit at the station. First class on Virgin trains, hospitality match ticket, hotel etc all provided for. I remember laughing with him that when I woke up that morning I was wondering what I was going to do for dinner that night. Always an incredibly generous man, we’ll all be that bit worse off without him"

Joe - Lee B from Chelmsford? I was and still am good friends with him but like you say he went off the radar and what with me being over here we haven' been in touch. Knew his family too. if it is him then this is pretty devastating.

"Used to travel around a lot with Lee, but lost touch in recent years. He went off the radar when his business was in trouble and didn’t hear from him again until he popped up on here a few years back. Really decent bloke, bit of a kick in the nads this one."

"Chim - If the posters name is life of riley then I'm pretty sure I know who that is, and I never remember him signing off as LOR. Hopefully ammerman will come along to confirm. He never really use to post much, usually when he had spares which he was usually happy to give away."
