Man Utd next weekend?
I wouldn't say it's a must win, but Lop needs something positive to happen after yesterdays undressing. Man Utd won yesterday so will come down in good spirits and will no doubt fancy their chances. I can see them opening us up at will and the Dane up top causing us problems. The faithful may turn too?
Fuck predicting the line up, I'll leave that pointless exercise to you lot, but I smell another reverse and more pressure on the Spaniard.
Thoughts?

Re: Man Utd next weekend?
Former West Ham ace, Don Hutchison, hasn’t held back in his criticism of new signing, Guido Rodriguez, and he lambasted the player after his Spurs showing at the weekend.
"“Their midfield was awful today, West Ham. I mean, there’s no legs in that midfield,” he told ESPN FC.
“Guido Rodriguez can’t really move, Tomas Soucek is a box-to-box player but he’s not leggy in terms of getting round the pitch and stopping things.
“And [Lucas] Paqueta has one of those days where he’s good on the ball, but doesn’t want to track back.”
Now Don is certainly right but from memory I can't remember him running around either back in the day!

To me this one hinges less on Lop and the team he puts out and more about if Man U turn up. If they do, I don't think we can beat them. Didn't watch their game against Brentford but from what I read they seemed to do better than we did against them.

Too much chop and change at a time when we need to find stability is going to just keep us in a state of ongoing flux.
Obviously Kudus is out, so bring Summerville in.
I'd probably then leave it at that. Soler hasn't shown enough in the games he's had minutes to show he's what the team needs. Alvarez Vs Soucek is probably the biggest open question...but Soucek's effectiveness in both boxes probably still gives him the edge, and I thought Guido was very good Vs Spurs.
We simply don't have a centre forward other than Antonio to use, and Bowen needs to stay on the right where weve needed him going forward but also very heavily defensively.
So I'd start the team with the same again except for Summerville for Kudus.
The other huge debate for me is the keeper. Areola was a disaster on Saturday and his distribution is woeful...should be being told his ball is Kilman or Todibo unless under big pressure in which case kick it as far as possible. No chips to midfield. No floaty balls to fullbacks. 5 yards either side, or kick it so their centre backs are dealing with it and we're after the second ball. Fabianski brings little better in terms of distribution and increasingly looks his age. Foderingham...is he better than shit?
I would bench Paqueta before Soucek. His attitude and general lack of competence this season and in particular last match are too much of a liability. We all know what he's capable of, but he needs a benching or sports psychologist or kick up the arse.
Man united are down this year and very beatable. I'll be worried if there's not a strong response at home on Sunday, injuries and suspensions be damned.

When it comes to playing a possession based high line, Soucek and Antonio are about as much use as a wet fart in a shitstorm.

Re: Man Utd next weekend?
I'd fancy us . As long as he picks the players he should have been picking all along . And for christs sake. dump that crap high defensive line . It's absolutely suicidal. No soucek or Rodriguez. Play Alvarez as a lone DM . And partner pacqueta and soler . That's the main reason pacqueta is struggling. Forget the inquiry. Football should be his release valve and he needs someone on his wave length.

He'll keep going as long as you rise to it.
I'm actually guessing he has at least two profiles on here.

This manager is leading us into a relegation battle. If you cant see that then I suggest you go and get your eyes tested!
Rare? You are blind if you are going by last season. Stop attention seeking and go away.

Areola
AWB Todibo Kilman Emerson
Rodriguez Alvarez
Bowen Soler Summerville
Antonio*
*Because there isnt anyone else, doesnt deserve to be anywhere near starting 11 after sat
Maybe Ghillurme on the right and Bowen up top, least Bowen would run/press off the ball up there

Re: Man Utd next weekend?
I think it is now blindlingly obvious that we cannot have an eleven with Soucek and Paqueta. Rodriguez is proving to be a very good player - But he cannot do the DM job on his own and needs help and an outlet. He has neither of these in Soucek and Paqueta. On Sunday one paper blamed Soucek for this and one paper blamed Paqueta for this.... So even they can't pinpoint the problem. But, one thing we can all see, is having both of them is a no go. Soucek doesn't have the legs and Paqueta doesn't do basic tracking and marking.
For me, we need to solidify - I would change to a 4-3-3 and have Alvarez, Rodriguez and Paqueta in the midfield. Otherwise we are just not going to be able to plug that midfield and we will concede too many to not give the front three a chance to go and win a game.
It may not be the line up Lope wants but for god sake lets just stay in some games long enough to have a chance.

Cannot say I'm hopeful about this. Resigned to seeing what happens.
I will say I think it would have been similar with Moyes. Thing is I expected an improvement with this guy.

Re: Man Utd next weekend?
If Flopetegui even thinks about starting that shitcunt Paqueta he needs to be pelted with chairs until he's out the building and halfway to Seville, put Irving in, there is no way he can be worse. Send El Burro to train with the kids until he remembers how to do the basics and stop fucking showboating.

How many false dawns have we seen down the years while following this club?
Even a win next weekend won't make for a brighter sunrise.
