How are we all feeling about this one?

Man Utd played in Europe midweek...we've had another week of JL educating/bamboozling the squad with his philosophy.

Kudus is banned....chance for Summerville, and there's a backdrop of Terzic rumours, growing concern, and 'leaks' from the usual sources about how long the tenure might go on.

With all that said, I reckon we beat Man Utd 3-1, who are also a basket case with a manager seemingly in similar lack of alignment to the club and squad.

Obviously with AWB Kilman & Todibo coming in our defence is still getting used to each other but I don’t have a problem with them & Emerson
As everyone has pointed out our problem is a glacial midfield with no obvious players to improve this lack of pace & movement 
And of course we haven’t seen old man Fullkrug yet so are relying on 2 strikers aged 65 between them
And this with a manager who thinks he can play in a style totally unsuited to the players at his disposal



 

Unsurprisingly, I am still optimistic. I think we have a good squad full of skilful players. Lopetegui is the problem. I do not understand how he is failing so impressively defensively. I am concerned the players do not agree with his plans and don't do it and we get this mess. Unfortunately, I guess all that that means we need more cover defensively, which echos of Moyes. Also not sure what has happened to Areola, but he isn't good enough this season.

Fulkrug is a strange one isn't it, a international knock that has now been nearly 2 months.
 

Seems Rodriguez is integral to what Lopetegui is trying to do, and he does move the ball well in possession, drawing the press before laying it off into space, so not a chance he gets dropped (especially after his best game vs Spurs).

Alvarez is closer to a 'hunter/destroyer' in midfield, and so is Soler from what I've seen. So the two of them with Rodriguez behind could work...though they both pick up yellow cards for fun it seems.

They're also both better on the ball than Soucek.

Much as I was advocating for Soucek last week, maybe for the team to move forward he needs to be benched and go back to being plan B for the last 15-20 mins.

That's what I'd like to see in this game. 

I don't know where you lot get the enthusiasm from week after week trying to come up with some new system and line up - put him there, that one over there, he can do a job there etc, and on it goes, it's exhausting. Here's a tip for you, it doesn't fucking matter if you haven't worked it out yet, we're shit no matter where you put these plonkers, with this manager.

..we will need to score at least two goals to win, at least one to draw.

If floppy  can't  get a tune out of his squad and give the hapless Dutchman and his squad of wankers a game  then he deserves all the incoming flak he will get ....tbf

i think basaka could play anywhere, very good on the ball
Why not Irving? Paq as a no.10, mav showed he can play RB. Very solid defence there with Alvarez in front.

I’m looking forward to seeing Summerville play. I’m hoping he makes his claim to be the starter, him on one wing with his direct approach and Bowen on the other flank looks legit.

I would like to see Guilherme get ten minutes up front at some time, pacey can dribble and would stop the opposition defence sitting so high.

Always saw Guilherme as either right-side or central. Won’t get any time anyway.

I really hope that's the team this Sunday. Summerville has shown some great flashes in his limited minutes. The only thing I've noticed of Soler is that he likes a yellow card, but i'd be interested to see how he does from the start.

Guilherme for Ings after 60 minutes.

They will try to niggle and foul Alvarez and Paqueta into making mistakes and the officials won't step in. The fans need to be aware of this and get behind the team.

I highly doubt 'loser Lop' will have the balls to drop the samba dancing, diving, Brazilian fraud prick and for that reason I think Man Utd will roll us over easily.
