Apparently unlike most on here I'll miss him, I don't follow social media and don't give a toss about his politics but he's articulate, knowledgable about the game and doesn't take himself too seriously. Streets ahead of the inarticulate morons on sky, bt sport and radio 5. I assume its the revenge of the Tory head of the BBC Tim Davie, so much for BBC left wing bias bollocks

Knowing the BBC, they’ll offer it to Huw Edwards
Don't be fucking silly. Next you'll be telling us he was also once warned of his suspect behaviour before fronting the biggest UK news event of the century when Queen Liz popped her clogs, before giving him a payrise whilst being investigated by old bill again. They aint that daft ..

They're bound to make the right decision whichever nonce/sex case/groomer/token gesture based on limited merits it so happens to be.

Le Tissier having a French name would endorse the BBC’s pro-Euro stance, there’s an outside chance.

I haven't watched MotD for over a decade, mainly because I don't really watch TV, Lineker was a decent presenter who became a complete cսnt all over social media thinking his opinion on all things was of any importance.
If the show wants to survive, it needs someone like Le Tissier presenting it. I'd watch that every week. Chuck some token in and they can remain of zero interest to me.

As a presenter I’d be ok with Balding. She knows it’s not her specialty sport so she would t presume to offer insight and would therefore ask the right questions of the expert panel. She’s professional and has more integrity than most football people.
Not my first choice but I wouldn’t start going mad about it like I would if moron Scott managed to somehow swing it.

I love the way Lineker winds up the knuckle draggers, worth his £1.3m salary for that alone....
The words used by far left extremists to describe anybody not sharing their 6th form debating world view is amazing. Knuckle draggers obviously starts with people to the right of Jeremy Corbyn and includes social democrats. Some people never grow out of this mindset sadly
Stop crying you snowflake knuckle dragger

Bring back Sir Trev. I could listen to his dulcet tones and super intellectual footballing opinions all day long.

He can't finish any sentence without suddenly bursting out laughing like a hyena on hippy crack. Fuck that. In small doses of rotated analysis he's decent, but not hosting all the time. My speakers wouldn't last a month.

I am going to stick my neck out and guess that Micah Richards will get it.
Young, cheerful and ticking at least one of the right boxes (not from London either), I can see that the Beeb will see him as the face of the future, a potential lead presenter for years to come. Putting a woman in, whilst very PC, may be a step too far for many of the MoTD faithful. I think maybe Micah would be seen as a balanced choice considering all the factors involved?
So now I’ve guessed MR, FFS don’t put any money on him!

Gabby Logan/Yorath's personal life might be an issue
Really? Tell me more!
might be because she absolutely 100% definitely didn't have an affair with Alan Shearer

If it's not a raspberry splitarse of colour I shall be writing to the BBC accusing them of every -ism in the book.

I’d be very happy to have Gabby Yorath take the reigns - and since she is a woman she may very well do so.

They need someone with good insightful opinions that most football fans can unitedly agree with. Only one man for the job.

If I was a betting person my money would be on
Sue Smith.
She ticks the 3 most important boxes for the Beeb.
1. A Doris
2. Northern.(The Beeb love too be seen spreading the love around.)
3. Won’t be spitting out controversial tweets. And will be someone who the Beeb can mould.

I like Gabby Yorath. Probably one the few female presenters that just comes as she is. And she's not desperately trying to prove a point and be someone or something she isn't. Very natural and easy to listen to.
She would be my choice.
I also like Hazel Irving and Claire Balding are in the same mould. They concentrate on the sport and make the sport the star. And they know what they are talking about.
I fear that unlikable cսnt Alex Scott will get it. Her face is like a swastika in 1930's Berlin. It's fucking all over the place.
