And so we're on to the final set of fixture for 2024. Happy new year!

LEICESTER CITY vs MANCHESTER CITY (1430)

An early win and a draw for Leicester under Ruud van Nistelrooy has quickly given way to three straight defeats for the Foxes, who now find themselves in the bottom three. Man City’s form has been, if anything, worse, but here’s a (further) chance to get their season back on track. Can they do it? They should be able to with some ease. Away win.

CRYSTAL PALACE vs SOUTHAMPTON (1500)
As long as there are enough points to play for, there’s still hope for the Saints. Something similar could be said for Palace, who are two places and three points above the drop zone. A nervous game in store in Thornton Heath. Draw.

EVERTON vs NOTTINGHAM FOREST (1500)
Forest’s transformation has been astonishing. Depending on other, albeit unlikely, results today, they could end the day in second place. Mind you, Everton have become hard to beat – and to score against – with three draws on the bounce. Probably not the most exciting prospect in store. Draw.

FULHAM vs BOURNEMOUTH (1500)
Two surprise, well-performing sides meet in what could turn out to be an entertaining fixture. Draw.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS (1500)
The rest of the season will be hard work for Wolves. Say it quietly, but the same can be said for Spurs. Still, the hosts start as favourites. Home win.

WEST HAM UNITED vs LIVERPOOL (1715)
It’s hard to understand why this game has been chosen for the telly. Run-away leaders Liverpool start as overwhelming favourites and there’s little to suggest that’s misplaced. Away win.Image

MONDAY

ASTON VILLA vs BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION (1945)
Two sides closely matched in league position battle it out in Birmingham. With little to separate them, it’s hard to see anything but a resounding Draw.

IPSWICH TOWN vs CHELSEA (1945)
The Tractor Boys are in deep silage while Chelsea have so far exceeded almost everyone’s expectation for the season. That looks set to continue this evening. Away win.

MANCHESTER UNITED vs NEWCASTLE UNITED (2000)
The Barcodes seem to have got things back on track. Man U, less so. Should be a good game, but not a massive amount between the two. Draw.

WEDNESDAY

BRENTFORD vs ARSENAL (1730)
Arsenal were once battling Liverpool for Premier League winners, but now seem to have locked horns with Chelsea for the runners up spot. They won’t find the Bees an easy opponent, but should still be able to return to north London with all three points. Away win.
