Potter Hammer Blow as Star Man Ruled Out for 8 Weeks

West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville could be sidelined for an extended period following revelations that his injury is worse than initially expected.

This news comes as a huge surprise after the club released footage over the weekend showing the £25 million summer signing fully involved in Hammers training.

However, Claret & Hugh have been informed this morning that last season’s Championship Player of the Year could be out for as long as eight weeks.

This development will be a significant blow to new West Ham head coach Graham Potter, who only managed to use Summerville for 45 minutes during his first game in the FA Cup against Aston Villa.

During his brief appearance under Potter, Summerville looked electric playing in the right wing-back role, creating the first goal of the Hammers’ new regime, which was slotted home by Lucas Paquetá.

West Ham remain hopeful the wide-man can return earlier than scheduled, but Potter is understood to be reluctant to rush anyone back too quickly.

We must have one of the worst sports science teams in the world. Our players are getting injured while out injured, ffs.
Think they mean 8 weeks from now as he was to all intents and purposes, back.

Shame.  One of the few bright sparks in the first half of the season.

Sullivan must still be employing the old medieval quack hag from Green St who treats injuries with leeches and potions, and talks about the 4 humours of the body.  Probably cut Summerville’s leg open to bleed out the afflication.

How the fuck did someone clear him to return to full training, when obviously his hamstring hadn't healed. Surely we use modern technology such as scans before decisions are made

Taken off at half time as a precaution, 2 months later..
Apparently he re-injured it in training.

What is exactly is his injury?
Thought it was a knock or a muscle pull that saw him off in the Villa Cup game

Old School West Ham injury:
Just a knock
Misdiagnosed
Needs surgery
Has been fitted with wooden legs & bought a wheelchair

What a West Ham coincidence.
Hahaha! Hadn't even thought about that until you mentioned it.

Fuck's sake. At least the last sentence is music to one's ears. He won't rush anyone back too quickly.

I'm surprised it's apparently so bad seen as he played on to the end of the half. Maybe that was a big mistake in hindsight.

Injuries injuries fucking injuries. I suppose it's not a coincidence there's a few muscle pulls appearing here and there. It's clear the players are being pushed harder in games to run further for longer than they were used to and I am sure training is somewhat more intense.
