And whilst yes, Millwall the area is on the Isle of Dogs, they have virtually no fans in the East End (aside from an handful on the island) and haven’t since they moved South over 100 years ago.

Also, if you knew your WHU history, you’d know we were founded as Thames Ironworks in Trinity Buoy Wharf which is the old East End (west of the River Lea).

You’re a clueless Essex cսnt.
Oooooh! Bitchy bitchy scratch your eyes out.

You do actually know why there is such historically deep-rooted animosity between West Ham fans and Millwall fans, do you not? Or do you simply follow the media narrative and insist that Tottenham are our main (local) rivals?
End of the day mate, you stated that Millwall are proper old school East Londoners. It’s like saying that Arsenal are proper old school South Londoners.

Most Millwall fans come from South-East London and Kent, the only connection to anything East London being the club’s name.

And yes, they are our biggest rivals, and by some fucking distance.

Friends of friends joined us and we spent the afternoon putting the world to rights.

Got chatting with one of these "Friends of friends" and ir went along the lines:

Him: "Where you from?'

Me: "Romford, originally."

Him "Who do you support?"

I gave him my hardest "What a stupid question!" look and replies "West Ham, naturally".

He then made what I took to be a Crossed-arms "Hammers salute", but said "You won't like me, then".

Uncrossed his arms to reveal a Millwall tattoo on each forearm.

My response was "Proper Old school East London are Millwall," and so began a long afternoon of reminiscing about football (and London in general) of the 70s & 80s. Proper fan he was, and gave me the impression he'd have the back of anyone in who's company he was happy - including West Ham fans.

He was 100% in the "We don't care" camp and proud of it.

When it was time to move on (to Soi Cowboy, naturally), all the others in the group came up with comments such as "Are you & Colin twins separated at birth?", given that we seemed to have - and talked endlessly about - similar pasts.

For what it's worth, he wished West Ham success..."Until you play us again!!" 🤣

Sadly, during the afternoon he revealed that he had cancer (pretty advanced, too), so in all likelihood I doubt if I'll ever meet him again (he lives in Northern Thailand), which would be a shame given that we managed to bounce so many memory triggers off each other.
Just re-read this… You were the one who claimed old school East Londoners are Millwall. Fuck me, what sort of WHU fan are you.

One who understands our history and that of the area within which I grew up.

What sort of special needs child are you?

Oh, and I suggest that you re-read the post again - try it this time sliding your finger under the words as you go to help with your comprehension.

I claimed Millwall are old school East Enders (they are), not the other way around.

Sorry, Eerie, that’s a load of bollocks. It was clear in full speed that he came flying out foot up at head height. Whether we knew or not if he connected is a bit irrelevant, it’s a dangerous challenge.

Not sure Oliver is a good barometer for correct decisions, either.
The best ref in the country is not a good barometer, but Ron on WHO is. Ok.

We're all talking bollocks on here, by the way, it's just opinions. Mine just happens to be right.
Well I guess that depends if you agree he is the best in the country, though, doesn’t it? That’s entirely opinion based. I certainly don’t think he is.

It’s also factual that “the best ref in the country” did get it wrong, and “Ron on WHO” got it right. Best ref in the country had to be corrected by a VAR.

I think we give it a decent go. One of the things I love about our club is that for the most part we are a patriotic fanbase.

I think what is more likely is it’s a rare South London derby, excited bunch of away fans full of folk who only turn up for these kind of fixtures, back up keeper fired up from the occasion and trying to impress the away support, and he made a ridiculously reckless challenge. It wasn’t mistimed, it was playing the occasion and he should be able to handle that better.

if you didn’t think it was a foul in real time I have absolutely no idea what you were watching!

Extended ban seems reasonable, and it’s nothing to do with being Millwall. Not that it matters, he’d have been back on the bench for the next six games.

Exactly, goose. Everyone is being pathetic.

In real time it didn't even look a foul, that's why the ref didn't give one. On the replay, it was mistimed but dangerous, so a sending off and normal ban was the call. And once again, if the striker doesn't foul the defender by pushing him, he wouldn't have got to the keeper. Everyone seems to be ignoring that.

Can't remember who, but a Palace player done a studs up challenge on Soler I think it was, that could've snapped his leg. He only got a yellow. Could've ended a career, and he meant it. What happens there? Fuck all.
