The Nepo Fight
Benn v Eubank Jnr
Who's your money on or who even cares?
I reckon Benn within 6 Rounds and for Eubank Senior to make a surprise entrance flying in on a drone to simply the best.

Re: The Nepo Fight
Nah bollocks to it, gotta back a Hammer now I've seen his Hammers top.
Just hope it's a great fight that lives up to the family history. It should be explosive.

That extra edge of unexpected support for Wubank might just be the reason I cash out. Yardes victory makes it 4 in 4 for my acca now..

Re: The Nepo Fight
I’m ashamed to say that this is the first boxing event I have ever been to in my life.
Away from the actual boxing I don’t think I have ever seen so many fights break out in a crowd.
a naive question - is this standard for a boxing event?

Re: The Nepo Fight
That's 2 ticked off my acca for tonight's card with wins for both Billiam-Smith and Riley. McKenna next to cause a bif of an upset by beating Smith but I just think he aint got the legs for it anymore at 36 and 18 months out the ring. The kid should do him.
As for the ring fucking sort it out and chuck some grit on that wanky slippy logo on the canvas. It's like bambi on ice out there..

Collins had both Benn and Eubanks number and underrated fighter but superb with the mind games leading in to matches like no other. Calzaghe was phenomenal for me with a fantastic unbeaten record I don't think he'd lose to either and even Collins bottled fighting him in the end hiding behind some weak injury excuse back in 97 before retiring. He didn't fancy it at all which was a shame for boxing fans who wanted so much to see it.
In fairness to Collins, he admitted he'd not have beaten Benn or Eubank in their prime.
As for the main fight tonight, couldn't careless, Benn is a drug cheat in a sport where you can kill someone and anyone backing him clearly isn't a fan of boxing.
Eubank Jnr has boiled down to fight someone who is a cheat and all of a sudden, his moral high ground went out of the window the second he saw the money.
Hearn and Shalom are a pair of sausages as well. It's a promoters job to promote fights/shows not be number 1 fanboys.

Re: The Nepo Fight
This was a good gloves are off with Nelson going over old ground and some with wounds that still cut deep..
And yes the celtic warrior did indeed open up Eubanks head before taking a steaming shit inside with the whole hypnosis bollocks. Worked a treat for him and just the edge he needed to throw him off and beat him. Like you though he was an underrated fighter, he did bottle Calzaghe though because I think he knew he couldn't beat him. Calzaghe, Collins, Eubank all with granite chins you just couldn't knock out and at best have to go the distance.

Re: The Nepo Fight
Collins was nails .doesn't get the credit he deserves imo.
Anyone remember the number he did on Eubank with the hypnosis?.
It spooked Eubank for sure.
I don't follow boxing anymore sadly..
I used to love it ..at all weights .

goose wrote: ↑25 Apr 2025, 21:10 There was an interview with Eubank Snr on Sky where he speaks about the fight with Watson. He basically says Watson was the best he fought and he was losing that fight. Watson put him down and he got up and managed to catch Watson with a peach of a punch that won him the fight.
at the end of the interview they asked him how he would like to be remembered, and I’ll never forget what Eubank said:
“in a fight I knew i couldn’t win, I got up”.
I see that too. Only recently he joined Watson on one of his charity walks singing his praises like he usually does. The game can be so cruel at times but they know that when they get in the ring and why they get paid the big money.
Tomorrow will be nothing at the level of their old men but I do expect to see a very entertaining scrap between them. Hopefully Eubank Senior decides to attend as it would be a shame no seeing him there backing his boy. I can understand why he doesn't though with regards to the rules.

Re: The Nepo Fight
Benn was my favourite, always gave value for money. Heard him say that had it not been for the tragedy then Michael Watson would have been the best of them. Would have been interested to see a prime Benn against Calzaghe. Nigel was done when he lost to Collins twice.
