Man Utd vs West Ham | PL | 11.5.25 | Predictions & Match Thread

A game not dissimilar to last week's encounter with Spurs, against a team that has had a terrible season by their standards.

There are many parallels to us, with them hiring a new manager that prefers to play a back 3, and it not going well at all...but with most of the fan base hanging onto the fact they're 'not his players'.

Sadly though one of either our opponents last week or this week will end up playing in the Champions League next season. Whilst we'll end up with a squad decimated by the loss of our saleable stars, punts on a load of unknown foreigners, journeymen, and lower league hopes, and Cock Piss Potter clinging to Premier League survival.

Anyway, this game...with Man Utd having played Thursday, we should have the edge in terms of energy, but at the same time they have a reason to stay sharp, and we have a squad more than likely already on the beach, along with on going rumours of squad friction and divide.

Prediction:

Away at Old Trafford, Potter's side are in an undesirable patter of draw-loss-draw-loss....and last time out was a draw.

So...predict a limp defeat here. 0-2.

Lineup.

At this point it feels somewhat immaterial who pulls on the shirt, but likely a lot will depend on if Paqueta is in the right frame of mind to play with more of his Kangaroo Court Case looming.
Areola

Todibo Mavropanos Cresswell

Wan Bissaka  Soucek. Paqueta. Emerson

Bowen. Füllkrug. Kudus
Feels like only two positions are debatable...does the error strewn 40m Kilman keep his spot over equally error strewn Mavropanos, and is Paqueta good to go.  Other than that the team looks like picking itself.

We should have beaten them that time when a ball drifted out but came back in and the blind linesman "never saw it"

And there's me thinking this was a man utd west ham thread.
Couldn't get excited over that performance we've been missing all season and decide to treat this match as the cup final.
Pretty disgusting if you ask me

It’s always great to win at OT so that was a very nice surprise. A good all round performance from the team and hats off to Potter.
Really pleased for the away following today and great to see us go above Manu and Sp*rs.

If i was Nuno I’d be in his office tomorrow telling him without a public apology I’m gone
And if you want me to stay you can double my pay tomorrow

I saw that, he came on the pitch and gave Nuno a piece of his mind, having said that I would  not be best pleased as the amount invested and they have literally tossed CL away.
It would have been classless even for the owner of a team who expected CL football and are on the verge of throwing it away to do that, but they have performed so far above expectation this season to be almost there in the first place it makes him look like an utter muppet cսnt. He should be Fuckjng grateful to his manager and players rather than acting like that because they’ve had a magnificent season really. It was like watching a kid on my super sweet 16 have a tantrum because their Ferrari has the wrong colour bow on it.

That’s football tho, they had a remarkable run of it under Ferguson but it’s been a slow decline since he left and they haven’t been able to recreate those times.

iron Duke.

It's because he's 'one of theirs'

No one from that City is ever allowed to want something that doesn't serve that football club.

Precious cunts!

Nice to win though. It would be great if we could take this into the final two games, while giving a couple of youngsters a few minutes on the pitch.
Hahaha

Bloke is a fucking clown who lucked into a great season and then has the cheek to try and have a go at a manager who has done a great job. What a twat.

Saying that I’d love to see Sullivan try that with one of our managers and just get punched spark out in the centre circle.

An easy win vs a very poor Utd…

But we were not so good second half…

Areola saved us with a couple of great saves".

I’m hoping Potter will kick on and improve results going forward…

onwards and Upwards…

And a POSITIVE ATTITUDE at Pressers…FFS…

Always great to win at Old Trafford.

Wildly out-of-form Forest next, and Ipswich on the final day.

A real chance to end the season with 3 straight wins, which of course won’t happen.

It’s all or nothing one match for them. For the winners it’s the riches of the champions league, for the losers it’s surely the sack for their manager and back to the drawing board. The lesser of two evils would be Man U bit on today’s evidence they will struggle

Indeed. Strangely Spurs could end up mirroring our horrific 2022/23 season with a shocking League performance and yet come away with a trophy by lucking out with a favourable run to silverware. That's how daft the season has been and same could also be said of Man Utd who have now lost 17 League matches.

Can’t complain really. First time under Potter where I thought we dominated. We didn’t have to get out of 2nd gear really.
Our 1st goal was well worked. It looked like there was a sort of plan there, that backheel to start the move was great.

But I have to say I’ve never seen a shittier Utd side. And the league form was 16th vs 17th. So we all have to be calm here.

in reality Man Utd didn’t press much, didn’t move around fast enough etc to give us any real problems. Other teams do not play like that so I still dont know what we are building on here.
Also, his subs brought them back in the game which was weird.

but we won. Convincingly. I can stop taking the Valium this weekend…
:-)

Subs again were a bit flaky. I dont know why bowen went off as i only had radio commentary here, did he get a knock?

No injury, he went off with the hump having not long scoring our 2nd.
How do you know he had the hump?
By watching his body language. The commentator's also picked up on it.

Have to be happy with any win at Old Trafford but don't think we've turned a corner after this.

Nice to see those detestable cunts sitting bottom of all the London clubs.
