We've already taken a few steps down a path that will change everything - no violence involved.

Remember the tanker driver's strike a while back?

The government/establishment shat themselves so hard they're still struggling to get a large chunk of their guts that came out with the force of the crap back up their anus.

They didn't give a fuck that Aunt Maude wouldn't be able to get to hospital for her oft-delayed appointment, they didn't give a fuck that people wouldn't be able to drive to work, they didn't really even give a fuck that the shelves of shops would empty with a spate of panic buying, but they DID give a fuck - an industrial weapons grade fuck - that without the tax revenue from fuel sales, the cashflow needed to run departments (and, of course, pay MP's and Civil Servants salaries) would have all but dried up in 3 - 4 days.

There's the pointer to getting a change - disrupt government cash flow. They'll soon sit up and listen then.

I think Stubbo makes some good points. I am not so pessimistic  as the man the video as if you look around there are lot of big thinkers tackling these themes at the moment and there are big shifts happening politically and socially that hint heavily at profound change.

One essay that I read recently that captures the mood and has been praised in many quarters is here:

https://theupheaval.substack.com/p/american-strong-gods

It's well worth a read if you feel like the man in video and you wonder what has happened to the west and what is happening now.

Is this real?

I ask because according to Goose everything is Dandy.
You’re obsessed with me son. I think someone needs to take a little break from WHO.

I’m obsessed with you lol! You’ve pounced on everything I’ve posted in a matter of minutes since for as long as I can remember. You’re delusional and you’re full of shit too. So it turns out things aren’t as Dandy in the UK like you pretend. Why am I not surprised.

Stop conveniently hiding behind the ‘R’ word and stand up for yourselves. Standing up for yourself and your kids is not fucking racist!
It’s beyond immigration it’s an invasion and the other side don’t give a fuck how nice, fair and tolerant you are, If you think that matters then you’re delusional.

Unfortunately it’s gonna get worse before it gets better and you have some dark days ahead. It’s Just a matter of time. If you had any sense you’d call a national strike to bring down your fucked up Gov’t and get a chance to vote in someone with the minerals to do the job. Although there are too many fuckwits over there, so you’ll probably all sit back and leave your kids and grandkids with a bleak future.

Thank fuck I left!
I reply to you about politics, on a thread about politics. Largely I reply to things directed at me or my viewpoint.

I would have assumed you'd learn your lesson after getting some 'feedback' from other posters yesterday - clearly not.

I think a factor as well is there are less and less people who have a job that they can work hard at and take pride in. Far less traditional crafts that take skill and far less heavy industries requiring graft. If you’re in any type of admin work, you’re likely to be bogged down in senseless box ticking and pointless meetings. Sense of pride and purpose has been diminished for decades.

I do feel sorry for the bloke in the video, but as for him saying that begging should be banned, he should have mentioned that a fair % of those on the streets are ex-services, which is a fucking shocking indictment of the country.

Hand it over to AI, that’ll sort it all.

Think stubbo's take is bang on. As long as the wealth stays in the 'right' place nothing will change.
Those at the top end will ALWAYS look after themselves and their own whilst looking down and shrugging at the rest. The elites can't not know how 70%ish of the country feel, people have had enough. We'll see protests, maybe a few days rioting then it'll all go away again as people re engage their phones and the imaginary 'far right' get blamed for all society's ills. If you want an example of how skewed the system is, Starmers government wanted to take a few quid from pensioners over the winter yet an act of Parliament was passed to guarentee the terms of his (starmers) pension.
Not even sure breaking the two party system will change things. Should reform get in, the establishment will click into overdrive and they'll make the Brexit wars look like a playground tiff.

A big subject to tackle. Yes posting on Facebook, message boards etc won't make a heap of difference. Somewhere along the line people lost their fight and empathy. No one (the majority) cares about anything except their phone, shopping, pints. A few peeps of outrage about the latest international news 'thing' and back to their boxsets. No critical thinking.
The last uprising was the miners strike, they lost. I think that was that. Everything was then sold off. Proper man's work replaced by zero hour contracts.

I'm too old to do anything. Maybe. I've just opted for a rural life, as little paid work as I can get away with and spend as much time outdoors as I can. I'm not perfect, still like the odd boxsets. And west ham. And looking at this shit for a few minutes a day.

Are you taking your sense of nationalistic pride, passion and fervour to the streets to make a difference...or just to a football message board (out of interest)?

Obviously this phenomenon isn't just a UK thing.

The whole Western world is currently a bit like a snake eating itself. Those taking advantage in all walks of life are really just opportunists...which is an inherently human trait. To see an opportunity to leverage a situation and look to take advantage. Philanthropists are generally thin on the ground.

But for all the rhetoric and random YouTube videos you post Merde, what are you actually doing to change anything?

The period of history we're currently in feels like the Western World as a collective is in the midst of an identity crisis, lacking the conviction to stand up for it's long crafted way of life in the face of critique.

There is no easy fix. The root cause is not easy to address, and the things that many are calling out as 'the problems' are actually really symptoms of this loss of conviction. A one off bleeding sore needs cleaning and a plaster. When they break out all over, you have to question what is wrong with the body as a whole, and not place the focus on the symptoms that follow with bandaids alone that merely treat the symptoms.

The Western world psyche (certainly of the ruling classes) is the real issue here. Whether it's because they've lost their sense of direction, or couldn't care less as their only concern is to continue to grow their own position of power...even if this means lower down in society falls apart.

Or....maybe this is just the way it's always been. The richest in society protecting their interests...throwing out crumbs to keep the serfs off their backs, whilst treating them in whatever way keeps them in their place.

Feudal lords. The middle ages. The rich have always looked to get richer first and foremost at the expense of everyone else.

For me all the attention should be on the 1% in society, and revolution aside, there has never been a way to deal with that. Everything else is just what follows.

If you want a film that portrays this nicely...the animated Ronald Dahl classic Robin Hood does a decent job....Prince John running the show for his as his band of cling-ons own gain, with all the lower animals suffering. Except that's a kids story, where there is a saviour, a hero, and a returning compassionate king to right the wrongs. The Western World doesn't have a Robin Hood or a King Richard.

Will probably take a war to reset the needle, sadly. And even then that will just be yet another opportunity for those than can leverage it...just like COVID was.

Anyway, that my contribution to this (or at least to try and form) an actual discussion on society as a whole and the struggles of Western Culture in the 21st century. Don't blame the opportunists, but look to the real policy makers and the puppets that do their bidding. Nothing happens by accident.
