Zaza was a massive disappointment, I remember one shot at goal that bizarrely went out for a throw in.
Was at Old Trafford. That along with scoring his only goal at the Shithole against us prior to getting him typifies Sullivans tenure as our Owner in the Striker Market.

Scored one goal at our stadium. In the one game he played there for the opposition. He was dreadful for us. He wasn’t even bereft of chances given how we played back then IIRC, he was just awful.

Foe was a solid, reliable but unspectacular player for us and nobody was upset that we sold him and made a profit.
Then he went and died and suddenly he was some sort of club legend after having been here five minutes.

I don't need to look back at old clips, I had a season ticket when he played for us.

I think some of you need to have a look back at a few youtube videos of Foe playing for us, he was very good and certainly not a disappointing signing.
We also made a £2m profit on him in 16 months.

90% of our striker signings beat Foe:
Ings, Haller, Scamacca, Zaza, Hugill, Boriello, Wellington Paulista, Nene, Ajeti, Calleri, Chamakh, Cornet, Fletcher, Piquionne, Feghouli, Ilan, Ayew....
Mate, you're not getting it. Please concentrate.
When we signed Ings, Haller, Scamacca, Zaza, Hugill, Boriello, Wellington Paulista, Nene, Ajeti, Calleri, Chamakh, Cornet, Fletcher, Piquionne, Feghouli, Ilan, Ayew - did you think we were getting a world class player? No.
When we signed Foe and Rwsknapp said he was a 'one man misfield', papers said he was world class and likened him to Viera, did you think he was going to be world class? Yes. So the disappointment with your list was zero - expect little and when you get it no issue, whereas with Foe, expected world class and got little, so massive diasspointmnwt
I'm getting it.
You overestimated how good Foe would be and you underestimate how good he was.
We signed him as a good player, he was a good player.

This numbers geezer is going a bit far with how bad a signing Foe was in comparison to expectation, we've had far worse, but let's be honest, he was pretty shit for us. Far too many misty eyed memories because of his sad ending, but he was poor for us overall.

Foe generally impressed me in both our colours and others. Was gutted to see him leave. £6M for him 25 years ago was a lot of money for a Club like ours for him but I'd still keep him.

Erm... I think your problem should be with the habitual liar, Redknapp, not Foe. Twat

Ladybender never has anything positive to say about West Ham, which is understandable coming from a Spurs supporter.

Foe is so far down the list of disappointing signings for West Ham that it's simply ridiculous.
We also made a profit on him. Remember when we used to make a profit on players?

Foe, rest his soul, did not cause trouble for the simple reason he wasn't all that - looked the part in size and stature but was slow with limited ability. Football wise, pre signing hype, he was
one if the most disappointing signings I can remember.
Fucking hell have you been in a coma for 25 years?
Foe one of the most disappointing signings that you can remember?
Didn't say the worst, just the most disappointing due to pre transfer hype.

Soory bud, but that post is a load of codswallop. Both troublemakers who agitated for moves almost instantly.
A club our size should stick to British players with ambition, not liberty takers ike the Africans, and if pressed look to Nirdic countries.

I watched the game yesterday as the Mrs was out and the golf was a procession and I have to say, early days I know, but Diout looked really useful as a left wing back, comfortable on the ball, good in possession and took on the defenders in the last third and delivered some decent balls into the box
I suppose we'll find out a bit more after the trip.to MAGA land

No wind up.
This is not a West Ham thing, just a fact that African players get lazy after getting a big contract or end up causing trouble to move to a bigger club when there is a sniff of interest.
Personally think we should stay away from players of African origin.
Marc-Vivien Foe was a model Pro, was well worth the 'trouble' and didn't kick up a stink. Nor did Demba Ba (granted born in France but represented Senegal). Kouyate was also a decent servant and always respectful of the Club. Aguerd has also served us well by helping us to win a Cup, as did Zouma together at the heart of our defence. Did them helping us win a European Trophy cause the Club trouble in doing so, even with Zouma on 1 leg?
Personally I hope we continue to look at the African market if we can unearth other decent additions as I mentioned, as I believe the right quality and attitude towards the game can be found, if scouted properly.
Sorry, you're wrong.
Aguerd ha been trouble since day one lagging the club off in numerous occasions in the press.
Ba was load sod trouble as he performed for a move after first decent spell.
Google its and you will see.
Ba had a £7M release clause and would have stayed had we not been relegated. Hardly his fault especially after he instantly made a great impact to try and keep us up.
Aguerd helped us win a European Troghy. If that's the kind of trouble we could get with another African players, then bring them in ASAP!

Apologies, he refused to play because of the 'flu'.
