Tragic Diouf v Scarles

Had a perfectly good academy kid ready to go and Cock Piss drops 20m on a left back we didn't need when cash is scarce.

Unless there's  a massive improvement on that performance expect Scarles to start the season.

Oh for sure, largely so that we have someone to pass sit the other direction to Bowen or Wan Bissaka who can be relied upon to do something with it. Paqueta is a lefty but does his creative work through the middle.

So we certainly need a deep lying, left footed midfielder unless Scarles is capable of doing that role which he has often done in the development team.
You don't want a left footer passing it left to the left wing.
A bit of balance in there might free up some space though eh?

What we need is to stop over relying on Bowen, Wan-Bissaka and Soucek to set up or score our goals. Hopefully Diouf and/or Scarles can readdress that down the left flank.

Scarles is a left back, who's not very good going forward. ( yes he's a kid and one of our own etc ) Diouf is a wing back and is very good going forward. We played 532 therefore you need a wing back.

Also Scarles did ok when he came on and linked well with the other two youngsters was not sure if they had reverted to a back 4 at that point though.

I don’t think he's even that forward. He's more like a cuck in a closet peeping through the gap waiting patiently for his turn to clean-up right at the end if he's lucky.
So Potter is Pickle?
I have NEVER seen them both in the same room, but then again maybe 1 of them was in the cupboard..
👀🚪

And his last post was only days before Cock Piss arrived...Hmm, is that the reason's he's been so shit?

We've hired Pickle in a Potter gimp mask?

He was waiting loads of time to get the ball only for us to cycle it back round. For then the midfield to lose the ball.
if you notice he was playing very high up on the left but if you don't give him the ball what is he supposed to do.

Agurd seem to not want to give it to him...

Well he's fifth choice left back at the minute behind Diouf, AWB, Emerson and KWP. Obviously Emerson is off and AWB cant play both flanks simultaneously but he's still well down the list. Half decent defender, got nothing going forward. That wont be a Potter-friendly trait. I also dont care if you agree or not.

A player who got two man of the match performances away against quality sides last season, amongst some other good performances. For his age to do that bursting on the scene, that's an outstanding thing to do.

It really was that Anfield appearance that stuck out most but then that was against the Champions elect and 1 of the best Forwards to ever play in the Premier League at the height of his game. Average on a good day my arse.

Point of order, Cock Piss doesn't give a shit about going forward.

It's all good for debate, it's not my fault you can't spot a talent when it's staring you in the face. I had similar discussions with others regarding Ferguson who apparently isn't all that either. 👍

If it wasn't for the Ebola Cup I'd have Scarles out on loan, think he needs game time. Diouf didn't look up to much yesterday but the tactics were terrible/non existent and the entire team played like cunts. Bit unfair to single him out and then proclaim the 'average on a good day' Scarles is the better player. Fucking dense.

My issue with the Diouf signing was prioritising £20M on a position that wasn't the most pressing concern, yet that was his first priority to address.

On top of that apparently we have to watch the pennies, so then this signing happens, none of it makes much sense or smart management to me.

And just as Scarles was growing in to the 1st Team position with mainly positive performances against Premier League opposition, he's now been demoted back down as 2nd, possibly 3rd choice or worse could be sent out on loan. If that happens I think that would be terrible after making his Premier League breakthrough as an impressive 19yo with raw but clear talent.

It would also send a bad signal to the other Academy players that even someone as good as Scarles at his age making decent performances at a high level, you're still likely to be sent out on loan starting the process all over again.

I think Scales will develop better not being under pressure of having to be consistent as young players rarely are. Diouf looked nervous and tentative last night but give him a chance to bed into the team, get used to the levels and what the manager wants.
