I said ages ago that if the army can build seven hospitals in a week ( covid) then surely we can knock up a few huge warehouse type buildings in the middle of nowhere to put these herberts until the processing of them is complete. Kit them out with camp beds and itchy blankets and have mealscon wheels feed them 3 times a day. I'm all for sending them back as soon as they hit British soil but this clearly wont happen so the very minimum that needs doing is take away the incentive to come here. If they knew they had to rough it then it might deter some of them.
Better still, using the furniture from the under-used Nightingales to turn 100 or so MPs offices in the Palace of Westminster into bedsits suitable for housing the ILLEGALS.
They can then mingle with the power brokers & law-makers on a daily basis and MPs will maybe start to understand the concerns those who vote for them have.
MPs can simply hot-desk in the remaining offices and get on with their lives without fear or favour.
Oh, and absolutely no work that involves changing the structure/fabric of the building - they're bound to "find" (blue) asbestos and claim that the building won't be in a state to accommodate people for at least the next 5 years.
Just desks out - beds, tables chairs & cooking facilities in - job's a good 'un.

Re: The September 13th free speech festival in London
There's got to be a couple of/few recently decommissioned cruise liners bobbing about somewhere.
These would be ideal for housing all illegal immigrants. They already have the infrastructure to cope with life away from land for extended periods and can easily be re-stocked by tenders or air drops.
Have them sail around the world's oceans, only to stop at ports to disembark passengers who's immigration has been approved.
All/any do-gooders who care for the welfare of such ILLEGAL immigrants can volunteer to work on board these ships to help - I'm sure they'd all feel it a good use of their paid holiday leave..

Re: The September 13th free speech festival in London
It's a huge elephant in a very small room but the obvious answer is to only assess immigration status and rights whilst the claimant is outside the UK. I believe the current immigration policy covers that.
DNA profile to determine most likely nation of birth if no papers available and shipped/flown out of the country within 24 hours of arrival - no cop outs; medi-vac if someone self-harms in an attempt to stay.
It's clear that the state does indeed prioritise allowing illegal immigrants staying in the UK over the safety (perceived or real) of current voters & tax payers.
No (zero) un-assessed illegals in the community = problem solved.

Re: The September 13th free speech festival in London
Obviously they had to launch the appeal or find somewhere else to put these people. Plus every other council would launch similar actions if it failed
That said it’s an obvious own goal & an easy win for Farage. Said earlier that this government is incompetent & clueless & in this action tone deaf
Was reading that a recent YouGov poll showed 71% of people think Starmer is handling the asylum crisis badly including a majority of his own supporters
This is only going to get worse

Re: The September 13th free speech festival in London
Did nobody in government stop to think of the very obvious consequences of launching this appeal and using tax payers do so?
It was always going to be seen as putting illegal migrants human rights above those of concerned local people.
They have effectively handed the next election to Reform and made their guvenorship untenable.
What kind of a bubble do these politicians live in ?

The police simply won't know where to deploy their facial recognition cameras (including police body-cams).
Don't forget that there's also a new flavour of COVID that the NHS are worried about, so mask up to help protect the NHS and your fellow countrymen.
