Pretty obvious why innit? Why don't you fucking emulate him, you cսnt? 

 

It's a sad reflection of the society that we all (ALL) live in that he had nobody to turn to even just to talk about what was vexing him. I'm always happy to just sit and listen to people and even if I have no clue on what their root problem is, it sometimes helps.

Back in the day, when I was in my mid-early 20's, I was stood in my local one evening, with a gaggle of pals,  when this (really) fit bird strolled up to me and gave me a big kiss, followed by a very public "Thank You!".  Rather perplexed I asked "For what?" as I had no clue who she was (but, it seems most of the pub did).

She said "You saved my brother's life!". I'm, like, "What the fuck are you on about, lady?", but, apparently, he'd been a guest at one of our famous/infamous village Sunday Lunches, as a friend of a friend, and I sat and talked with him for much of the afternoon - no idea about what. Couldn't even recall his name or face.

There seems to be a big hole in modern society - no one caring (or even giving the impression they care) about some one else; seems what many in a similar situation want/need is someone to just spend time listening to them - not trying to solve their problems, just listening.

Ricky Hatton's case shows that wealth, success and even peer admiration of your achievements don't come close to dealing with the deeper issues.

Who can say what is going through someone's mind before they do such a thing. It would have been an act of sheer desperation, but frankly also a little selfish toward those who are left to pick up the pieces and be forever wondering if there was anything they could have said or done (and I speak from experience)
