Former England and Premier League footballer arrested on suspicion of attempted rape

This is all to frequent now.
A prominent former Premier League footballer has been arrested on suspicion of attempted rape.
Essex Police are investigating claims the player, who also featured for England in the 2010s, attacked an ex-partner.
He was held at Stansted Airport on Sunday by Border Force officers before being taken in for questioning by detectives on the case.
A statement from Essex Police said the suspect, whose name cannot be reported for legal reasons, has been bailed until “late February 2026” pending further inquiries.
Telegraph Sport has confirmed the identity of the player in question.He was stopped at a passport control point as his details showed he was wanted by police, according to
The Sun, which broke the news of his arrest.
A complaint was believed to have been made by the footballer’s former partner several weeks ago.
The suspect was held for several hours at a local police station where his fingerprints and DNA sample will have been taken.

Passenger manifests are not top secret "Eyes only" documents. Even someone with a police certificate that gives them access to children and the vulnerable can read them.
The media will already know who this is. If it leaks outside the UK, then we'll soon all know.

It's all very subjective.
The geezer has now been nicked, had his fingerprints and DNA taken and is being investigated for what could all just be a spurious and malicious allegation from said footballer's ex.
