‘Incredible’ – Shock as player breaks bone just after arriving from West Ham

West Ham United have only just waved goodbye to Niclas Füllkrug and, somehow, the striker has already managed to make headlines again… And the Italian press are calling it “incredible”.

Just days after leaving West Ham, Füllkrug picked up an injury at his new club. He has broken a toe almost immediately after arriving in Serie A. As a result, his start in Italy has stopped before it really began.

The German forward joined AC Milan on loan, with an option to buy worth around £4.3m (€5m). AC Milan expected him to add experience and physical presence up front. Instead, he landed straight on the injury list.

Calciomercato report that Füllkrug fractured a toe on his foot and now faces several weeks out. Current expectations point to at least a month on the sidelines for the Germany international. Further medical checks will still follow, but the outlook looks clear for now.

The striker just left London, changed leagues and countries, and then immediately became unavailable. Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri already has enough issues in attack. Losing a new signing so quickly only adds to them. But it’s not West Ham’s problem for now.
Fans already questioned arrival from West Ham

There’s likely to be some anger among the AC Milan fanbase. The Rossoneri really needed a striker in January to help them with a push for the Serie A title. When the arrival from West Ham was first rumoured, there was a backlash because of the player’s poor injury history.

Now that he’s picked up an issue so soon after arriving, there’s going to be a lot of I told you so.

Füllkrug was meant to add physical presence and experience to Milan’s frontline. Instead, his first contribution has been an entry in the medical report.

The player himself is naturally thrilled with his move to AC Milan, describing it all as emotionally overwhelming.

If he was fit, which I know he never is, he's be our best striker. Shit players don't get to start as the German main man up front. I feel sorry for him, a fit Fullkrug is precisely what we need at the moment and whilst I admit it's a good thing to get him off the wage bill for now as he's being paid to get physio, I don't want the bloke to have to retire. You all loved him when he told the press we were shit, now you think he should go to the knackers yard?
In short he wasn't suited to the PL, for a big lump he was getting bullied on the odd occasion he turned out. He is a decent finisher though and a good pro.

Does anybody get the sinking feeling that Steidten only signed this muppet to bend Sullivan over and dry fuck him before he got his P45?

Funny his surname comes from the German words “Steid” meaning “stead” and “ten” meaning “tenant.” Put together, the name is thought to have referred to an individual who was a tenant farmer.

Not a lot of people know that.

"with an option to buy worth around £4.3m"

25 million pound loss in 1 year, and even that is looking too steep a price for him. Well done to the board again.

You know what's coming. Sent packing laughed out of Milan for complaining about getting a Lineker injury and would rather not cover the 100K a week wages so we have that to look forward to again and no doubr effect our Jan Window transfer business when negotiating deals.

Yeah, exactly what I was thinking Massive son.
Knowing the Welsh Gollum, I'm assuming this eventuality wasn't included in the loan deal?
Hopefully I'm wrong.

Have just re-read the article and appears the raspberry is only a loan deal.
So, can they send him back to us, or is he now their problem?

Sell him, you mad? We've got the fat fuck until his contact runs out in 2 seasons time. He's only out on loan so he doesn't piss people off back at the training ground twisting his ears about like a mentalist as they try to enjoy their free eggs benedict on a bed of leaves in the staff canteen.
