Already time for the first major tournament !
The top four seeds ;
1, Alcaraz - needs this to complete the set of Slams
2. Sinner - Going for third consecutive win in this . Deserved favourite
3. Zverev - Has type one diabetes, may struggle in extreme heat
4. Djokovic - can he win it at age 38 ?
Best outsider - Bublik - explosive year took him from number 80 up to 10
.. and the women ;
1. Sabalenka - Strength and power for these hard courts
2. Swiatek - Six grand slam titles already
3. Gauff - the French open champion
4. Anisimova - Was famously thrashed in last years Wimbledon final
Best outsider - Andreeva - challenging the best at only 18 years old
Brit Watch - Cam Norrie is seeded and will be looking to week two.
But Dan Evans lost the qualifier, and Jack Draper is still injured.
Katie Boulter has tough first round v Bencic, and Raducanu could face Sabalenka in round three.

She shows how utter shit women's tennis in the UK is, as she's our number 1.

Never has someone with so much hype (to be fair after a very early success) consistently flattered to deceive so much or delivered on it so little. She's like the Dina Asher Smith of tennis. To be fair to her she's not put the hype and expectation on herself but such a weird career with injuries, mental health, coaching changes, bad bad losses to players she should brush aside and you have to ask is it mental or physical fragility or both or very bad guidance from management or parents? She's clearly a top player as shown sporadically but never delivers. Seems to have had panic attacks on court before and there's always some sort of excuse like a kid who doesn't want to go to school.
I'm sure after she retires if she doesn't win a few more slams she'll say winning that US open at that age was really bad for her career. Which is a funny way of looking at it and financially it set her up for life, but it seems to have hung over her ever since.

Norrie (26th seed)through in 5 against the unseeded Frenchman Bonzi
Won the first 6-0 then managed to lose the next 2
Always think a 5 set match in the first few isn’t a bad thing but you don’t want to be spending 3 hrs 40 in the heat too often
Emilio Nava of USA who also played 5 sets next for him

Feel like its only a matter of time before Andreeva gets her breakthrough and wins a grand slam. This is a good as opportunity as any.
