Condolences you you and your family NJ, not much to add that hasn't been said but it's admirable that you still find it in yourself to thank everyone not that you need to.

I just want to post a big thank you for all the posters who have sent a message they have made me cry but have been unbelievably helpful. Simon and I had an incredible bond because of West Ham when I took him down to Upton Park as a six year old and it has continued ever since. Thank you MPI for your kind gesture. He would have been absolutely buzzing about yesterday's result. COYI's x

NJ, I've started to type something several times, but no words seem enough to convey your loss. Life throws some shit. Stay strong.

Chim - It truly is sad, and agree that there can't be many things better in life than taking your little one to a game and to see their faces loving all the madness, humour and all the energy going on around them, then talking about it on the way home, at home, and then when they go to school next. Sadly, for me, it's not something that I've been able to do, so have missed out big time, but envious of those that have. Like you say, I hope NJ and family are bearing up as well as they possibly can.

Hey NJ, don't post if you don't want to but I hope you are bearing up? Your boy and grandson would have loved yesterday and I was thinking of them as the sun set on the away end with the away fans loving life to the full, just as your two must have loved life with our mental away supporters. I find it thrilling and I am in my 50s - God knows what an experience it must have been for a six year old. Anyway, hopefully a lot of us on here are thinking of you and your family. Go easy mate and much love x

I know it probably always was, but seems that this world has just become a massively monstrous cսnt. Never a truer statement than only the good die young and another horrific way to lose a fellow hammer. Try to stay strong NJ, no parent should ever have to bury a child in such circumstances so cherish the little man, as your boy will live through him.

So sad to read this, my condolences to all those affected. Having lost a son-in-law who was young I know how devasting it can be for a family even when you have time to prepare yourselves. But the suddenness of this tragic event must be much harder. I pray that you all will be granted the strength to bear this and in time that your grief will recede.

I opened this thread when it first appeared, and it was a real choker to read. Stuff like that hits home. Just opened it again to see that it's NJ's son, and blimey, don't know what to say. Can only wish you and your family all my best wishes. RIP fellow Hammer.
