"Personally I want to see a few more good performances from Dinos before I'm totally convinced, but yes encouraging and is a permanent fixture now. Assume the flop Aguerd is off in the summer."

"Also, just read an article about Mavropanos improving stats and performances. A run of games forced on Moyes ( remember Moyes brought Aguerd back straight away after AAFCON to replace an improving Dino to disasterous effect then restored him again) Anyway, the OG aside ( stuck out a leg) he seems to have stopped dropping a bollock with pass backs and WhoScored show season stats now: 1.5 tackles per game 1.5 interceptions per game 4.5 clearances per game Against Newcastle, he was one of the standout players for us, aside from our attackers at least: 1 tackle 2 interceptions 6 clearances 2 blocks The clearance that he made inside the first-half when Alexander Isak was waiting to head home with the goal at his mercy was unbelievably good Inter Milan apparently want to sign him this summer.? Anyway thank heavens Steidten and recruitment team recruited him, Kudus and Alvarez. Imagine Moyes got his way on all summer recruitment ( shudders)"

"We have a potentially brilliant midfield three of Alvarez, Paqueta and Kudus and doubt we will ever see it. Imagine those three with Bowen on the right and a decent left sided option. What a fucking waste."

"Didnt know that Nagel. We miss him for sure. Another area that needs strengthening assuming Downes is sold and Phillips returns etc in the summer ( youd hope :-) ) Watching other league games u see the speed and movement and tempo in comparison. Moyes assembled his tiny squad to play low block, static, sit deep in shape Moyesball. Hence, outside of Kudus, Bowen and Antonio our forwards, I reckon Mavropanos is our quickest player, oh and Aguerd? The rest in relative terms ( to rest of the division ) are slow and old too a lot of them. They end up having to chase the opposition and ball most games, tire by 60th to 70th minute and have to stay on because Moyes has not built a squad. Take Saturday, Howe puts 2 on then another 2 and replaces one of his subs and we start to struggle and they get a couple of chances ( Isak fluffs one). Moyes goes back to his 1980s move of my era when you shut up shop with 1 defending player in this case Phillips ( who happens to be slower than those on the field) and removes the ouet for a long ball up front which we need as their refreshed team is running at us in numbers. We needed 3 decent quality energetic sub replacements. We dont have them because Moyes hasnt built or developed a squad to allow that. There must be one or two U21s that could bust a gut for 20 mins to bring some energy to our old, slow tiring side? But they dont play so dont develop or at least we dont know who might be ready. He tried Mubama who clearly wasnt ready or up to standard and thats his excuse to say no one us ready for even a few mins. He makes very late subs in numbers only once 3 goals went in and it was too late. The bench had Earthy a midfield option? Not had more than 5 mins experience. The media and a lot of fans dont see this incompentence or negligence from Moyes. Least subs used, smallest, slowest and oldest squad. One injury to Paqueta, Emerson, Alvarez, Kudus, Bowen and even arguably Mavropanos ( now by default our only fit and mobile CB) and it has a far greater huge impact than it should. The proverbial “House that Davey built” as strong as a “House of cards”. Grounds for him being let go after having 4 years to build some foundations. Ours are built on sand. Simply time to go was end of last season but for that bitter sweet Conf cup ( Fairs cup equivalent) win. Masked a lot of underlying problems. Thank gawd Steidten got Kudus, Alvarez and even Dino or we could well be in the relegation scrap if Moyes had all his own way"

"People have talked a lot about how much we miss Paqueta when he's not there but it's even worse without Edson Alvarez. The Spurs game will be the 9th game he's not played in. So far the only games we've won without him have been against the mighty Backa Topola. It's not even like we've played vs top teams in those absences. We conceded 15 goals in the 5 league games vs Fulham, Brentford, Newcastle, Sheff Utd and Bournemouth. We also lost to Bristol City in the cup. When he didn't start vs Burnley a few weeks back we were 2-0 down at half time. Only way I can see us winning this game is if we go all out to score more than them. It won't be a 1-0, that's for sure."

"""Why is this a 8.15 kick off. Fucking stupid time, others are 7.30."" TNT always do this when they have more than one televised game on in the same evening, so that people will stay tuned longer and watch 1 and a half games instead of just 1. They'll be doing the same thing on Wednesday and Thursday."

"Agree Paul but like you I think we are unraveling and no european football next season seems to be the most likely outcome. That will mean, as you say. and big rebuild required for the new coach ( assuming Steidten gets his way and we get a modern coach not an old fashioned manager who wants to control everything ). It may be a very uncomfortable month or so ahead but for the longer term future it will be for the best imo if we see the end of the Moyes era ( who incidentally did a good job overall but can not take us further forward imo). We have to hope Sullivan has the sense to let Steidten try to modernise the football side and have a go at getting closer to the rich 5 - 7 clubs. For a club like us to sustain that we have to find a way to sell one or two every season or so to buy 3 or 4 younger but cheaper players ( not cheap for quality so they may well cost 30 million or more ) like a Kudus or Alvarez. Over time if Steidten, its about the recruiting and scouting team mostly getting it right ( they won't be 100% successful that's impossible) and we have a coach who knows how to use the type of players recruited effectively in a progressive system but also develop and blood youth team graduates, we might see progress. That means football based on fast paced possession together with technique and skill, pressing etc. No guarantees and it might take more than one coach over a few seasons but its got to be worth trying to go in a new direction surely even Sullivan will know that as he has wasted millions on dud transfers over the last 14 years?"

We desperately need a win here or we will be struggling for European football next season for sure.. My gut feeling is carnage and another defeat down to Moyes diabolical tactics… I fear this Dinosaur will leave us with no European football next season and a fucking mess for the new Manager to sort out.

"If Moyes can be persuaded to stop interfering with his pathetic control-freak act, we may have a chance. But that’s never happening, is it."

We have some individuals that are better than most of theirs but they have a better first 11 and a much better squad. Only hope is that we have Alvarez back and that they are vulnerable to the counter as they play on the front foot and keep such a high line. That said that CB they have is lightening fast. Our issue is Coufal and Zouma in defence who are vulnerable to any kind of pace. They will dominate possession and Soucek will need to be more than a shadow in midfield. We should have our best 11 aside from Areola perhaps? But it is one of the slowest teams in terms of tempo / build up unless on the quick counter. Cannot see Moyes luck returning this season so not hopeful as we struggle to get and keep the ball and he keeps the same 11 on the pitch for 80 mins and we get tired and concede when he makes any sub. Moyes race is done finally I think and this fixture could well be the one to confirm it as a loss and other resukts sees us slip to where many thought we woukd end up which is mid table

I think we're the better side . The old duffer in the dug out is my only worry . Only person literally alive on planet earth that thinks our defence is better than our attack .
