I wouldn't wish concussion upon anybody but the protocol has done us a big favour here by helping to get the message through Moyes's thick skull that the world will not end if he leaves Soucek out of the side. Yes, I know he has been a bit better so far this season but I liked what Sir Alf said recently about the presence or otherwise of Soucek being the barometer of the state of the team. Leave him on the bench for a few games and watch the progress we make. Let him be a squad player and fight for his place when he gets chances. As for Kudus, such an exciting signing that I would be in favour of putting him straight into the side but if he has to come off the bench for his debut, fair enough.

I'd start Aguerd before Zouma. Ogbonna has playered well, but both Zouma and Ogbonna is slow. A faster CB would be good for Luton.

I think it'd be easiest to name the games in which Aguerd hasn't been shit or made a glaring error. You'd have to go back to last season, because in his 2 games so far, he got given a going over by Solanke, and got idiotically sent off against Chelsea. Walking disaster.

Pickle - I suppose it's a case of how many errors is too many, at some point the player has to be benched. Aguerd doesn't deserve to be benched just because of one poor game (this season) at B'mouth, but Ogbonna played well at Brighton, so it will be interesting, but I suspect Aguerd will come back in.

Not trying to be funny or anything - I'm genuinely intrigued. If a player has to cut out an error, how is it a matter of deserving to start or not? Can it really be treated as a disciplinary matter like disobeying direct tactical orders or a lack of effort or engament? I ask because we had a similar thing with Emerson playing the opposition minimally onside last season. Surely a mistake is there to be recognised so the player can cut it out while playing rather than sitting on the bench just stewing?

Soucek ruled out is a massive bonus It takes away the manager’s obsession with him Benrahama to start for me with Kudus on the bench I’d stick with Oggy as well he played very well on Saturday and when he came on against the rent boys, Aguerd was awful against Bournemouth and mainly played ok against Chelsea but he needs to cut the errors out and he simply doesn’t deserve to start

Benrahma was very good when coming on against Brighton, Kudus scored a hatrick against a pub team.. Benrahma has earned the right to start, to be fair he hadn't really lost it. Kudus will get his chance.

This will be a different kind of test. Have a read of the following article. It makes for interesting reading and notice tge but about Luton being the team closest to West Ham in terms of possession, number of passes and accuracy. What do we do if they are prepared to let us have the ball? I guess that’s where we need the likes of Kudus and Paqueta to create openings.

Of course Kudus should start - as should all the new signings if fit.

Manuel 10:53 Thu Aug 31 What on earth you waffling on about? He scored hat trick in the champions league last time out, that's good enough for me. In he goes, Benrahma hasn't been outstanding so far this season. Simple as that

won't be an easy game but a good opportunity to go top of the league. i would assume the decisions to be made is Ogbonna vs Aguerd and then does Benrahma come back in to start after playing so well at Brighton. you'd assume we might have more than 30% of the ball so we will need someone like Benrahma to create something.

I agree with Stubbo, team would be: Areola Coufal, Zouma, Aguerd, Emerson Alvarez Bowen, Paqueta, JWP, Benrahma Antonio

With Man City and Liverpool up next we need to win this. Should be a good watch. A cսnt of a time for me but can't really complain as we haven't had many Fri/Mon nights game over the last year or so.

As long as the players don't act like the game is won before they get off the coach we SHOULD get another 3 points, but football can spring surprises as we all know.

Rossal - You getting yourself all excited with the new signing you had never even heard of a few weeks ago? He has to earn his place, he doesn't walk straight in. Simple as that.

I’m confident of a good solid win here provided Moyes lets the players and other staff take control of the game and dictate terms. I’m equally certain a typical Moyes approach will be exactly what Luton are hoping for. It will certainly not guarantee even a draw while the competition and the press will be delighted to see and comment on our discomfort.

That's the line up which should start, really looking forward to this No promoted team has a point yet, let us break tradition and win.

Concussion protocols mean Soucek not allowed to play this game. Expect to see Aguerd return for Ogbonna, and Benrahma to start. Kudus to make his debut at some stage (knowing Moyes after 70 mins). Moyes said Mavro will be ready after the International break.

The line up should be the same that won the last game. Benrhama starts. Kudos on the bench to come on for whoever requires replacing. Soucek shouldn't be on the bench,he's actually had several head injuries already since the return. We have enough players who can battle to not have to resort to playing lumps against Luton. Play football and we win comfortably. That's surely the who point in these signings.
