Moncur That cսnt crassus is entitled to his opinions but every fucking one is so negative. Are you telling me in the 2/3 years he has supported this club not one good thing has happened? The bloke needs locking up.

It's disturbing how many fucking idiots on here aren't grasping just how fucking bad signing this ageing lumbering past his best cսnt is. It's ridiculous really.

Nagel, Fair enough. In all honesty, I’ve never really looked that deeply into what Southampton or Swansea have done. I’ve just observed them from a far and paid attention to the players of theirs, that are likely to cause us damage and/ or who would be of interest for us to sign.

SUM A DING WONG 6:49 Wed Aug 9 "It seems with Southampton & Swansea there is a ‘shelf life’ to it lasting." People don't seem to realise that with both them clubs, their downturn in fortunes happened after they changed ownership. In Southampton's case they've changed ownership twice since the days they were bringing through the likes of van Dijk, Mané, etc. So people assume that it didn't last for those clubs because it's just not sustainable, when in reality things change so rapidly at football clubs these days that there's nobody in place to actually maintain any kind of club philosophy on youth development, transfers, playing styles, etc. That's one of the reasons why having a long term director of football with the power to make the big decisions is so important. Well, that and so as not to buy overpaid old duffers who'll help keep the current manager in his job for a while but will probably be expensive bench sitters within a year when the next manager comes in.

Good player good signing price is a bit high JWP is decent signing as well I’m quite happy with both if we can get rid of the rest of the deadwood sone of which are on huge wages and get some younger squad players in on less money the likes of Scott Martseen and such like If we can get rid of Soucek Cresswell Ings Fornals Cornet maybe Kehrer, then these signings look better. Two leaders both good players are they the players I would have signed …. No but they aren’t bad signings they both improve the team let alone the squad and neither is ridiculous money especially JWP he’s probably nobles level who had a fantastic career and sone great seasons for us but with the added set piece bonus

A bit too old and a bit too expensive. Try and keep an open mind and see how it goes.

Moncurs Putting Iron 6:51 Absolutely agree. No real issue objectively with his talent level. It's his age and cost which are the real factors and although he obviously brings good experience etc, it's hard to believe we can't (or don't want to) find someone younger and far cheaper for the position. Basically we'll be stuck with him for the length of whatever contract we sign him on, likely high wages with absolutely no resale value unless he has a Lazarus like upturn in form.

twoleftfeet 4:23 Wed Aug 9 He was warrior and mystic, ogre and saint, the fox and the innocent, chivalrous, truthless, less than a god, more than a man. There is no measuring Crassus motives by ordinary standards. In the moment of his triumph, he saw the death prepared for him, yet he accepted the treachery. Can you say he did this out of a sense of justice? Whose justice, then? Remember, we speak now of the Carssus who ordered battle drums made from his enemies' skins, the Crassus who denied the conventions of his ducal past with a wave of the hand, saying merely: "I am the Crassus and you mate are a cսnt." CRASSUS the Scourge of the money in the Bankers and the cleanser of WHO.* *Or one bloke on a site about West Ham United with views about West Ham United.

I wouldn’t have such a problem with a bit of ‘short termism’ if it led to us winning something/ finishing in Europe next season. But there’s no Rice (possibly no Paqueta, too) and no two bob European pub teams for us to help-in our quest to achieve all or any of that. Go on Moyezzzz, please prove me wrong!

One of the tricks to good transfer business is looking for players underperformed at their current clubs and signing them for below their actual worth. I'm quietly confidently we might be pulling that off here. On a separate note who was the last time we signed a player from Man U who was a success for us? Or even when did we sign any player at all from Man U? Or just an ex-Man U player even if he went to another club before joining us? Was Ravel Morrison the last?

LAF, It's not that Maguire is not good enough for West Ham..... ....It's more that he represents more of the same. He'll do a job for sure, we know what that job is and how it will fit in with 'our' style of play and we get quite depressed about it.

Lee Trundle, I don’t mind people fawning over those teams. They go/went about their business in a good way. But, it seems with Southampton & Swansea there is a ‘shelf life’ to it lasting. That’s why, as I wrote earlier, we need to take some aspects of the way they operate and add a bit of something else. I’m sure the ‘wise ol folk’ of WHO will know.

Maguire - not good enough for West Ham. Moyes - not good enough for West Ham. Dawson- was not good enough for West Ham. Bowen - Hull? - not good enough for West Ham. The arrogance of some of people on here is astonishing. Welcome Harry.

SUM A DING WONG 6:01 Wed Aug 9 Excellent post, and one I agree with. It used to piss me off seeing others fawn over the likes of Swansea and Southampton as they were sliced bread at the time. "anyone that thinks that we can seriously enjoy any bragging rights of those teams mentioned having won the 3rd tier European competition is living in a dream world." This is the point I was probably trying to make. ↑
