Lopetegui (sacked 8.1.2025)

I was thoroughly looking forward to the start of this season
Was also prepared that things might take some time and wasn't expecting miracles over night What I didn't expect was a manager who after spending 6 weeks with the total dross he'd been left by Moyes would deem them fit to start in a premier league game And low and behold all of them played absolute shit
We're now 1 game in and none of our new players are any closer to bedding in or learning anything from their new team mates cos they barely spent a second on the pitch, half of them not at all I think it's gonna take somewhere between 6-10 games before we see the team anyone with an ounce of sense would play cos this bloke can't identify shit when he see's it I thought we was handed a miracle at half time when we went in level and low and behold he changed nothing I'm sure people are gonna make excuses for him and say it's too early to judge
But from what I've just seen today, this cսnt is David Moyes in a mission impossible mask

Let's have it right, aside from all the tactical stuff that's been spoke about the fella can't even speak or understand English, ffs. It was the wrong appointment and now we are going to have to suffer it for a good while. A right fucking mess with the wish for cunts rubbing their hands.

100%. I cannot believe there are so many childish grown men willing to put themselves out there in social's saying we should've kept Moyes. How the Scottish Gollum still has people under his spell is beyond me.

The problem now is not just the defeats. It's the manner of defeats. We looked bright enough in the first half against Spurs but the second half was abysmal. God knows what he said at half time, although whatever he said I doubt the players understood him as his English is poor.
If we were getting beat and it was tight and you could see an improvement in style of play and something building and could see what was trying to be achieved then, ok. But, as others have said, I am really struggling to see what our style is, sustained patterns of play and, most worrying, no improvement defensively from the shambles we was under Moyes before he was let go.
I think offensively we are decent. But an offence is only as safe as its defence. And when things start to unravel there doesn't appear to be a player that can pull it together and there also doesn't seem to be a response by the coach.
Worrying. I say if he gets 3 points or less in the next 3 games then he will be gone. Shame. The club was right to let Moyes go but this appointment is not working. Great opportunity to push on after Moyes but, once again, the club appear to have missed it. Story of Sullivan's tenure....Missed opportunities.

Don’t think they have a replacement ready to come in and won’t risk an interim from within the club like Noble. So he’ll be here at least until the next international break even if we lose all the games coming up.

The guy has been in the building for five months now..! Any responsible employer would have moved on. Terzic ain’t walking through that door. Having worked under Sullivan. Unless he gets a Moyes type of deal. Of having a final say. And having the board pretty much over the barrel.!

Sack him today
Pointless sticking with him, 'another 3 games' blah blah whats the point?
What has he shown in the first 10 games of season to suggest giving him another 3 is a good idea?
Its as bad as Moyes, he just makes more subs
Theres no tactics, no style of play, not one player is bettter than last season....not one! Players aren't playing for him, team selection is shit.
If he can't show glimpses in the last 5 or 6 games after having all of pre season just fuck him off and start again.
Edin Terzic be my shout

The Hornchurch Massive is saying Lopetegui safe until the New Year. Seeing that info will most likely have come from The Voice of Sullivan. It looks like anything higher than 15th will be a bonus.
I think we all know by now how Sullivan works - no threat of relegation = no sackings, with the 'time' nonsense trotted out periodically.
After next weekend smurf will trot out the 3 game fing...

For me he can see off a pasting v Utd but anything other than a win v Forest he has to be shown the door. But where do we look after that?
My worry is potter is still without a job, id rather stick than go with him
Nah.
for me he's marking time already..lose in the same manner against Salford, it's fucking pointless prolonging the inevitable.

Apart from everything else this fucker seemingly has no interest in giving any of the youngsters a go, it's sad that not even one has come through yet.

Given how poor his spoken English is, I would love to know what the board found so impressive about him. Also, what do Brighton, Brentford, and Bournemouth have that enables those small clubs to hire much better managers than we do? It clearly isn't money. I think we all know the answer, though!

Just curious, how long does he get before we all realize he is a dud?
Di we wait until the Jan transfer window? The end of the season? The end of October?
what’s the general feeling on here?
IF we are bottom 3 or there abouts and in a tailspin, then January. IF however we are looking safe-ish they wont budge. They just don't sack managers THAT quickly. Last one to go before Christmas was Bilic and that because of a truly horrible start, and it hasn't been quite that yet.

The next 3 Man U , Forest & Everton will tell a story
The Everton game is Nov 9 and with the international break we don’t play again til Newcastle on Monday 25th
No improvement & a 16 day break.
Time for a new manager to assess ahead of the January window

As I posted previously, IMO he gets three more games before the board will start asking serious questions.
He won't be fired after a defeat at home against Man Utd, even a thumping. However, if they lose to Man Utd and fail to beat either Forest away on 2 Nobember or Everton at home on 9 November, and go four games without a win (a distinct possibility), then they will be forced to look closely into firing the dud loser - especially if we are in the relegation zone by then.
Bilic was fired in November 2007 after 11 games of the 2007-2008 season, so that is a precedent.
