"I don't see JWP leaving, but wouldn't mind if he did."

We’ll sign a couple of defenders like we usually do and then leave it to the last minute to sign another player on a free. Whilst Sullivan is still in charge things won’t change.

I don’t know how many bags per week we are paying JWP. But I can’t imagine any of the promoted sides would want too exceed that. And I can’t imagine JWP wanting to suit up for a relegation dog fight. The guy has a few more years left in him. If we get a sensible offer. Sure. But otherwise I would stick.

Fair enough... I agree he was fantastic against Leverkusen and did put himself about a bit so perhaps I am doing him a dis-service... just can't see him featuring much going forward.

"JWP was exceptional alongside Alvarez against Levekusen, This proves his ability in a team that has a more attack/possesion based mindset. He is 100% good enough for our team and suggesting he's a good option for promoted teams is slightly 'Spursey if I'm honest!"

"My point is that I can't see him being anything other than a squad player. His reputation hasn't been damaged at all, possible enhanced by this season. We wouldn't get our 30m back but if we could get 20m then we can bring a better option to use from the bench for that money. JWP is a good solid professional that would suit a promoted side such as Ipswich but lets face it he isn't a dynamic game changer from the bench or (hopefully) a first XI starter next season."

Ludo. JWP will get flak just for being Moyes choice. Did we overpay.? Sure. But this is us we are talking about here. Personally JWP has done a fine job. There are plenty of others we should bin first.

"If we can get a fee for him I would move JWP on, perhaps Southampton would have him back if the come up. After a good start he turned into what we all thought he was going to be... bang average. We can definitely do better."

I rather like that Philogene chap at Hull. Our last signing from them didn't turn out too bad.

Cheers Alan. That’s the plan. Tim gets them in at a fair price. Give them a couple of seasons too shine. Then move them on at a fix price. EVERYONE HAS A PRICE.!

"C&H West Ham’s £85 million release clause for Mohammed Kudus cannot be activated until 2025, meaning any potential buyers will have to wait until next summer to initiate a transfer."

"West Ham target six signings to kickstart Julen Lopetegui era Technical director Tim Steidten to be handed increased power over transfers West Ham will target as many as six signings this summer as they look to give Julen Lopetegui major backing at the start of the club’s new era. Lopetegui has agreed a deal to take over at the London Stadium when David Moyes leaves at the end of the season, though no formal announcement is expected until after his final game. The Spaniard’s arrival will see the Hammers continue their shift towards a European-style leadership structure, with technical director Tim Steidten to be given increased power to lead on transfers. Steidten arrived at the club last summer but there have been tensions between him and Moyes behind the scenes, including over transfer targets. Last week, the German was asked to stay away from the first-team squad for the remainder of the campaign while conducting the search for a new manager. In consultation with Lopetegui, Steidten is set to lead a significant overhaul of the first-team squad, with a centre-forward, right-back and at least one new centre-half understood to be top of the agenda. There are currently four senior centre-backs on the books, but Angelo Ogbonna is due to be out of contract, while the club will listen to offers for Nayef Aguerd amid interest from Saudi Arabia. Kurt Zouma and Konstantinos Mavropanos have emerged has the first-choice centre-back pair but the Hammers have not kept a clean sheet in 16 league matches and there is acceptance that an ageing backline must be revamped. There is interest in Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo, who will become a free agent this summer, and the club have previously considered Wolves captain Max Kilman, who worked under Lopetegui at Molineux. West Ham will be forced to target homegrown talent or else risk falling foul of Premier League regulations, which limit clubs to a maximum of 17 non-qualified player in their squads. Of the current homegrown crop, Kalvin Phillips’s loan spell is about to end, Danny Ings could be sold and both Ben Johnson and Aaron Cresswell are out of contract. https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-transfer-news-lopetegui-steidten-b1156266.html?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1715156020"

"Manuel - Yes, seen links to Wesley. Both would cost about the same I think, the Brazilian a bit more... think the Portugese chap would be less risky but obviously TS will make the right decision!"

"Ludo - He looks good and has just broken into the Portugal squad so may go to the Euro's. We're meant to be buying the Fluminense winger, had one bid knocked back but expected to go back in."

"See we are being linked with Portugese winger Jota Silva, 24. Spent the last two years at Vitoria de Guimaraes who are 5th in Portugese league. From his highlights reel he not only looks like but plays like Grealish from his Villa days. Can play LW or RW. Sounds like a genuine target from what I've read. Would cost c. 20m."

"Shorty - Well in that case I concur, we badly need to bring down the average age of our squad and need to buy players who have resale value. I'd like us to go for Gibbs-White if Paqueta leaves."

Manny. I’m saying every time we are linked to anyone north of 30 (Apart from maybe a keeper.) Then maybe what’s the point of hiring Steidten and his team.?

"Side - Yep, possible, or maybe a mix. I wonder if Lop rates Kilman when he had him at Wolves."

Is it possible the new manager will want to first get in some recognised names into our squad and then from there Steidten kicks in for future transfer windows?
