"We have a manager who wants to defend and hit on the break, unfortunately we are shocking at defending. Spurs get a manager in who likes to attack and look a different team even though their talisman has fucked off. We bought in people last season to turn us into a more attacking team but he refused to listen to them. Get used to this dire football because this cսnt wont be changing anytime soon."

He needs to go before he has a chance to waste money on McGuire

"What is so frustrating is the stubbornness and arrogance regarding team building and selection. You look at the striker situation for several years. You know Antonio isn't going to last forever so you ""should"" go out and get a similar forward not a Haller, Scamacca or Ings, or if you do you play to their strengths. Then there are a host of players that are just played out of position to accommodate favourites. Paqueta, Fornals, JWP playing deep. Kudus not even getting a game, it's just so bizarre you have t5o ask if Moyes actually wanted half the players."

"It is a case of grin and bare it Imo You can understand the frustration as we rely on a tactic that is about sitting deep and keeping narrow in shape and countering. It’s awful to watch at times but over the Moyes reign brought some results in the league early on during COVID times as we were a surprise package and delivered a trophy ( albeit 3rd tier ) . But it’s run its course if we want to progress in the league which is really the best barometer or yardstick. That means us being like Villa and Brighton by being able to get close to the rich teams but on a regular basis. Because Moyes only values or knows how to prepare teams to defend, spoil and counter his transfer dealings prioritise defenders and defending. The attacking minded blokes brought in get picked for their defensive work more than anything else it seems. I noticed against the Greeks that Kudus did his best work in defence so perhaps he’ll get a game tomorrow now ? :-( But above all else, and when you compare to most other teams, he sees no need for pace and movement. Soucek is possibly the slowest player in the Premiership and cannot control or pass a ball but scores a couple of goals and is undroppable !! He’s not good enough to play. Antonio can play the system but is ultimately not good enough now he’s got older. Benrahama is not good enough to play wide left nor is Fornals because that’s not their position which you need pace for Moyes keeps his job because after 13/14 years of abject failure, fans unrest etc.. Sullivan nearly 70 is content especially with the delivery of a trophy Only if he listens to Steidten will we progress and get in a manager for the modern game Moyes has done his bit and I bare him no malice but we have to replace him. Unfortunately we have to suffer what I suspect will be a very dull, disappointing season We’ve had mostly those seasons during my 60 years + supporting West Ham so I can wait for the summer so long as Sullivan listens to Steidten and we replace Moyes The game tomorrow ? I think we will lose tbh as we look so disjointed and with too many players unable to pass fast and accurately enough based on who he picks"

"Yes, we all want to see better football, but let's not start writing off the season just yet, ffs. We drew with Toon and yes lost in Greece, but it wasn't a damaging defeat, so it's only really been the Villa game that was unacceptable. Win tomorrow and we're likely to be 7th after what 10 games and top of our table in the EL and still in the League Cup, so hardly shit. However, lose tomorrow and it ain't gonna be pretty. By the way, as usual all the pundits continue to big up Moyes, had Defoe on earlier saying he likes what he's seen from us this season, said we look very focused and a big threat and said that Moyes doesn't get 'enough' credit. Fucks sake,"

"Oooh look at us, we predicted this would happen, we told you so. Yep you’ve been predicting it for 4 years, 4 years when we’ve qualified for Europe 3 times and won a European competition. Yes but it’s not a real European trophy. Harder to win than the cup winners cup that we won in 1965 and still go on about. Now wind your necks in and rejoice in what we have and when Moyes goes in the summer we can then start this all over again."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread - Preview
Eerie No one was “blinded” by “jammy results”. Some of us support the team when Moyesball works that’s all. It’s got us two top 7 finishes and a Europa Cup so clearly that’s not the problem. What is the problem is Moyes inability to buy players to fit a system. The club have put Steidten in charge of that so as Moyes is here until summer I’ll just grin and bear it…

"Just read that lead story on the OS. This quote took my eye; ""Different teams look to do different things in the Premier League. Sides like Brighton & Hove Albion, Aston Villa and Newcastle United all play in different ways and with a different shape. But we trust ourselves and our system"" And that is why we are absolutely fucked with the current manager. Never tries anything different, and even when he does it's half hearted - so he then reverts to type immediately. Didn't he blame our very poor start last season on 'trying to do something different'?"

"Vexed is of course right, but that's nothing a few of us haven't been saying since the summer. And to be honest, it's been for a long time now, although I was adamant they'd sort it this summer. It's only been 2 jammy results this season that further blinded people. The state of the team is fucking tragic, given the money spent over the last few years. Kudus looks like the latest £35mil+ player the manager doesn't know what to do with."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread - Preview
It’s difficult to find fault with Vexed’s logic. It is remarkable that any other chairman in PL would find the lack of a back up striker for several seasons a worry rather than a benefit. Of course im not counting Danny Ings that we got from the bargain basement of Villa which might have told us something at the time…
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread - Preview
Kudus Antonio. Bowen Paqueta JWP Alvarez Kehrer. Aguerd Zouma Coufal This team would win comfortably.
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread - Preview
"What sort of cսnt spends 450m and still ends up with a squad with one centre forward he is willing to use, no viable back up left back, no proper left sided midfielder, but two really expensive right sided forwards one of which is left on the bench every game? Moyes is a fucking imbecile."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread - Preview
Aside from left back I’m sure we’ll be unchanged from Villa. Kehreh will play left back and Paqueta will be hung out to dry on the left so the entire game is squeezed inside. It’s not like we have a very talented left back in the youth team waiting to break through or anything.

"So hard to know what to do with this team, there's so many players out of form, that it is a bit take your pick. For me, I'd concentrate on the balance of the team, and get our best player in a position where he can affect the game most, not stuck out on the left wing. My team below when everyone is available. As Emerson is out, I'd play Benrahma purely through lack of options, but once Emerson is back, he can have that partnership he he has built up with Paqueta, just further up the pitch throughout the game, and give us cover going backwards. Areola Coufal --- Zouma --- Mavrapanos --- Aguerd ---------------- JWP ------ Alvarez ----------------- Kudus ---------- Paqueta ------------ Emerson -------------------- Bowen ---------------------------"

"I see anorher gutless display and a result to match, possibly a draw which Moyes will try to style out as a good result. He'll leave Kudus on the bench and play the usual suspects. Fuck off Moyes you cսnt."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread - Preview
"Have already stuck a tenner on lukaku to score first. They're starting to fight and we're starting to look like the shit team from last season, which is frustrating as we cealry have a talented squad. Shame we've a negative jock in charge who holds the team back and continually plays players who he shouldn't."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread - Preview
"Score early and we could do them 2 or 3-0. They’ll try to contain us and get the fans on the teams back, if that’s happens then we could be in for a thrilling 0-0 !!!!"
